I made this transparent PNG the night he died in preparation for one of the many ways I was going to memorialize him--a surface rug in his likeness that I planned on laying directly in the line of his favourite sunbeam. And I uploaded that PNG here, because this is the website where people post their cats.

I was not expecting the reception I got. Many people have pointed out that this post has more reblogs than likes, and how insane that is in 2025 when reblog culture is at an all time low. I didn't even talk about the fact that Burger passed away in the original post, it wasn't a tearjerker reblog bait or anything like that. People just loved Burger that much, in the same way I fell in love with him at first sight. He was such an ugly kitten.

Anyways, it's really special to me that so many people have reblogged my best friend. I made this PNG to memorialize him in a completely different way, and you all wound up doing just that in ways I never even imagined.

Thank you. Wherever he is, I know the sun is shining.

They semi-cancelled Timothee Chalamet for simply saying he found opera and ballet boring, by the way.

How does Hollywood work these days?

Being a bit of a naive, foolish young man and (wrongfully) calling opera and ballet irrelevant?

“You must apologise immediately! No Oscar for you.”

Acknowledging you stole terrified teenage girls from their bedrooms?

Embarrassing as it is, this other man admitted to war crimes.

Miguel isn't evil. Morally complex and fucked up? Yes. Horrible to Miles and way too aggressive? Yes. Prideful? Yes. But evil? No. And everyone understands this. It's rare to find someone who deeply hates Miguel. I don't even hate him. It seems like he was a good father and he's a heartbroken man. But I want to see his pride crushed by Miles in BTSV. However, he's constantly defended and praised despite being the main antagonist. Like honestly, a lot of times it feels like the fight is more so against Miguel and his worldview than it is against Spot. But yet, everyone loves him.

But don't even bring up Gwen. Unless you want to hear rape jokes and incel talking points. I've seen her called a slut, a whore, a bitch, rape bait, a foid (literally had to look up what this means. It's bad.), and a whiny bitch.

Why? Well of course because she was manipulated and indoctrinated into believing Miguel's fucked up rhetoric. She was scared for her own life (ahem gwen stacy canon event) so kept herself from giving into Miles fully. She fucked up and hurt Miles and made a mistake, but don't you remember? Only men can do that. Only men can make mistakes. Only men can hurt their love interests and cause them emotional pain. Women have to be perfect little cheerleaders to their men. Don't you know this?

And oh my god. Don't you recall? She literally opened Miles' action figure. Not like he pulled out her hair or anything in the first movie.

Now listen, there are some valid Gwen arguments. It's ok to not like her. Sometimes when I watch ATSV even I'm like "babe what the fuck are you doing?". I know that Margo and Hobie are probably a lot more in touch with reality and have a stronger moral compass because they recognized the faults in Miguel's rhetoric sooner. I know that. I agree with those arguments. Y'all are right. Hobie and Margo are objectively better people than Gwen. But she's not an antagonist. She's arguably the second most important character. She's a traumatized teenage girl. She's Miles' love interest, whether you like it or not. SHE'S NOT WHO YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ROOTING AGAINST.

And everyone collectively seems to forget her 180. Honestly, she didn't even have to do a 180 bc she was half way out the door already. She got a team together. She's ready to kick some ass and save Miles. She's not the bad guy.

But yknow. It's easier to blame the female character than the male character who is genuinely in the wrong.

Fic Summary:

18 years of age and Miles still doesn't know what kind of Mage he wants to be. There are so many paths he can choose, and yet none check all the right boxes. In an attempt to put off making a decision for as long as possible, Miles signs up for a quest. He is paired up with the freshly retired, heroic Mage of legend, Professor Peter B. Parker. A true protector of the common man and a vanquisher of dark art users. As exciting it is to be traveling with this legend, Miles can't help but wonder why Prof Parker retired from adventuring in his prime. As the pair venture off they come across troubled wander. Whether she brings trouble or secrets of a great greater evil is to be seen. Though what is easy to see is she has been long running from her past.
