Apologies if this video is really disorganized (also all I have is a webcam OTL). Tumblr’s limit for videos is 100MB and I kept going over it OTL. This is like my 7th or 8th attempt at this.

Cosplay isn’t about the drama, it isn’t about becoming the #1 best cosplayer in the world and having people praise you and commend you (though recognition is really nice and great and compliments are always welcomed). Cosplayers come from all walks of life and are people who just want to have fun in costume.

It’s about having so much passion for something that you put in the time and effort to dress up as a certain character and having fun with it, it’s about crying over your sewing machine at 4 in the morning and burning your fingers with hot glue because this prop just won’t stay up right, and it’s about being with people you can bond with over a similar interest.

If you’re a cosplayer, it’d be great if you could contribute to the defense of something we hold dearly to our heart, while in cosplay. if you could film a small snippet of what being a cosplayer means to you or just saying that cosplay is a hobby to have fun with, but please don’t put in hate.

Just put in a short and sweet message of why Heroes of Cosplay is approaching this ever-expansive nerd subculture the wrong way.
