you know what no i'm so mad about the coming out scene okay. yes its great will's confirmed gay but like. we know they can write a good coming out scene. robin's was emotional, intimate, and beautifully done. you could feel her deeply accurate emotions - her anxiety, her hesitaion, her sadness, her fear, you could see it in the acting, you could see steve's slow realization and genuine acceptance, you were in each of their shoes. i tear up every time i watch it. and we know they can write a good emotional will scene. the scene with jonathan at the pizza place, robin's speech, the van scene. the film scenes even. all emotional, all will-centered, all well done and building up to what should have been a beautiful scene. so if they can do those things seperately where the HELL did we go wrong. why did it feel so performative? why did they do it so late in the season, so that time-wise he had to tell everyone at once? why did it immediately cut back to action scenes? why did they choose that moment to casually dismiss byler? why did we get like three people's reactions and a hug and then nothing else at all? literally what what wrong. i'm so mad.

they really were sitting at interviews talking about how will’s arc was an accurate representation of being a gay person in the 80s and then made him come out in front of 35 people after he just fully accepted himself the day prior, saying he ‘had’ a ‘crush’ (he was in love with mike for years) (he literally flirted with him 2 days before) im cryingwudjfjwj
