Like a month ago I messaged a craft group about accessibility for wheelchairs and the answer I got was “there’s a lot of stairs but we have cute boys who can carry you”.
And it’s…not good. As a wheelchair bound person I largely depend on people when I want to go out and do *anything* so I’m used to it, I laugh it off, make an annoyed post about it and off I go. But I wanna just say a thing real quick.
Even if I wasn’t gay, wasn’t a survivor scared of men, getting help as a disabled person is just…Not a pleasant thing to us! Imagine for a sec how you’d feel being carried up a flight of stairs. You’re a grown person. You’re being touched in an awkward way. You’d rather do it yourself. You’re So Uncomfortable. It’s not where I look for the beginning of a romantic relationship.
So like…could abled people stop doing this thing where they think helping us in a condescending and infantilizing way is cute? Cause I’m real tired. Just get me a ramp or lift and I’m cool. I don’t need a dating service when I’m just trying to go about my day
I found out the girl I always sit with and talk to in one of my classes is also into musicals and I immediately felt out Friendship Meter shoot up significantly

It's such a shame that due to things like censorship and rules around what's 'appropriate' for media that's aimed at children that children's shows don't do things like spend time seriously grappling with the morality of just straight up murdering whoever the villain of the show is, because that's actually a perfectly logical decision to contemplate in the situations that a lot of these shows surround. Which is why it's also such a shame that the only place that I've seen this done is an obscure, actually generally good, prematurely cancelled cartoon based off of the boardgame Dungeons and Dragons named "Dungeons and Dragons" from 1983. stuff like amphibia and owl house is like "i'm trapped in an alternate world and struggle to find a way home again but its not as bad as it can be cuz i have friends and wacky adventures" and dungeons and dragons has a child fall to his knees and sobbing "i wanna go home. im sick of this. i miss my parents and my school and my friends and my life. we need to kill this guy because i am so so tired" and having another kid go "i know this sucks. im sorry and im concerned about you. nobody should go through this but ultimately this might be how we return home" and you just dont get children being tortured by isekais in cartoons like this anymore
i miss you dungeons and dragons 1983 animated series. you were ahead of your time and were hated for it. i eagerly await your return someday

is anyone else annoyed that "ai" encompasses both chatgpt and tools we train to do repetitive tedious work for us. and by the ripple effect of articles like "scientists develop ai to detect cancer early" that make people argue for the merit of chatgpt or become anti-medicine. and by the general state of the world and society
