not my usual post but seriously why the fuck are we regressing in indonesia as a country of diversity? all that im writing here is just my frustrations in the current state of indonesia (from a citizen myself)
I swear to you i personally feel like indonesia is forgetting what Bhinneka Tunggal Ika means. you say you respect those who are different- you say that you are tolerant of everyone but the SECOND that "someone" you respect is gay, a woman, different skin complexions, OR EVEN JUST HOW THEY ACT- suddenly its okay to hunt them down, suddenly its okay to ridicule them, shun them away FOR BEING DIFFERENT. you give your praises to a predator, you praise people for hurting other people, you give praise into apathy to the suffering of others, you NORMILIZED using slurs to your friends because it makes you look cool. you sing your praises to those who created a system where not every voice is heard but the MOMENT someone defies you definition of "normal" or you expectation of women, man or anyone.. you shun them away, shame them for being different. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, the saying "Unity in Diversity", the saying where despite our differences we can still be one nation- WHERE IS THE UNITY WHEN YOU DISCRIMINATE OTHERS FOR BEING DIFFERENT.
Do not use religion to justify your actions, do NOT use an all loving god as a reason to hurt others, do not even CLAIM to be tolerant of others if you shame on others for being atheist, satanists, agnostic, or ANY OTHER RELIGION THAT ISNT ABRAHAMIC. you claim its to protect children, but where is your worry when children are in danger of being kidnapped? where was your worry when children are at risk of being in marriages with men older than they were born? WHERE IS THAT WORRY? Your intolerance towards those groups, groups who only want to be accepted for their gender identity, for loving a different gender, for wanting basic rights as human beings, for people who wants to be loved and accepted into their birth country they love so much- you decided to instead of respecting them.. you hunt them down like they are some animal, you claiming its a medical disease, claiming that they are broken when in reality they are finding who they are as a person. i beg of you- USE your common sense, empathy, or just an ounce of respect. you can not claim to be apart of a land of diversity if you are actively killing that diversity.
