This is Bradlynn and Lloyana and due to a supervillain with a portal gun, they end up in a universe similar to canon

Notes about their universe:
- Since Misako knew Lloyana wasn’t the Green Ninja, Lloyana never went to Darkley’s and instead grew up at Misako’s knee
- Misako still searched for the answers about the final battle for Garmadon, but it wasn’t as pressing because there wasn’t a literal baby on the line
- Bradlynn still went to Darkley’s School for Bad Girls on account of her mom still being a crime lord) and got kicked out when she was fourteen
- She was kicked out later because she was better than Lloyd would’ve been, but not bad enough for Darkley’s high school years. Especially since there was no Lloyana to to cushion Bradlynn from being at the bottom
- She was disowned as a disgrace and ended up a street kid and eventually opened up the serpentine tombs to showcase to her family that she can be evil, promise, can they love her now?
- And she almost goes through similar motions that Lloyd did, they’re just more life threatening bc Garmadon doesn’t care about some rando like he does his daughter. So Bradlynn is more bodily scarred. And she is also de-aged like everyone else so she returns to her regular age during Child’s Play
- Lloyana and Bradlynn literally run into each other at the museum during The Stone Warrior and it’s an instant meet-cute but also a kinda slow-burn
- They become best friends and Lloyana ends up joining the group as their researcher (like their generation Misako so she knows all about history and kicks ass using Spinjizu
- Her spinjitzu color matches her clothes bc she doesn’t have an elemental power and she predominantly wears purple, to match her dad
- Misako’s ascot is also purple because of this relation
- They don’t get together until after Possession, after Bradlynn is thought to be gone forever. Lloyana cries and confesses bc she thought she would never be able to and the two kiss
- Bradlynn is both more mentally and emotionally stable because he never had a will-they-won’t-they with her parents like Brad did. She cut them off when she was younger and has fully moved on. And since she was publicly dating Lloyana, Harumi didn’t nearly fuck her up as much as Canon!Harumi did to Canon!Lloyd
- By the time Prime Empire is dealt with, the two get sucked through a portal and ended up in show!verse
Miscellaneous information about this fic:
- Lloyd is a bit bitter that he’s still the shortest out of the four (Brad is 6’3”, Bradlynn is 6’1”, Lloyana is 5’11”, and Lloyd’s 5’10”)
- Lloyd and Brad are still dancing around each other so Bradlynn and Lloyana conspire to get their counterparts to (after going “ugh, men.”)
- Lloyana is confused about Lloyd going to Darkley’s while Lloyd is jealous that Lloyana got to be raised by Misako
Just came home from watching the Backrooms (2026) Movie
This post is spoiler free. It’s just me vaguely gushing about stuff into the void
If you like amazing cinematography, soundtracks that just fit (I could go on forever about the perfect mixture of bop and eeriness. Like the instinctual uncanny valley of sound) , Chekhov's gun getting fired like a damn metal storm in every fucking shot, and a movie that treats you like your intelligent instead of repeating the message twenty times, god is this movie for you. I think my favorite thing I am now obsessing over is every. Single. Shot has a purpose lore-wise. Even the fucking establishing shots
I had such a good time watching this movie and I will probably go back in theaters to watch it again. I might also just listen to the soundtrack in my off hours. I can’t wait for the fanfiction. Genuinely. I want so bad to read about people’s perspectives on some of the mindfucking stuff. And I really, really, really want people to write the missing moments that are canon compliant. Just so I can read it
This movie was so good, the rowdy teens that were screaming at each other before the film and shoving their bare feet in the way of their phones’s flashlight to have the shadow projected on the screen were dead silent for the film
We clapped as soon as we saw the title card in the credits
Never have I had a movie that made me a little nervous to open a door. Fuckin’ 11/10
Brad probably would’ve been a jock who did drama club in the off season in high school if he had a normal childhood. (He’s an athletic, adrenaline junkie, who is overly dramatic)
And I think if Lloyd went to high school (and wasn’t hated by literally everyone for being a Garmadon), he’d probably be a geek at the bottom of social hierarchy and is also in kendo club
They would’ve become friends bc one semester they both have a lunch period with no friends and end up sitting at the near empty table. Lloyd ends up info dumping about something nerdy, and Brad is smitten

I’ve always wanted to write The Final Battle from Brad’s perspective. (Because he was there. He was with Dareth right before Garmatron showed up ran off)
Of feeling so small, so hopeless, in the face of the embodiment of darkness. Of evil. And everything is riding on the shoulders of the kid you were helping out a few years ago. Of seeing the sky go black with only a gold speck in the all encompassing void. And then seeing that speck get swallowed up? Feeling — if only briefly — your mortality, your doom because good — the thing you have newly dedicated yourself to because that golden figure convinced you that you could — had failed. And then the triumph and relief when realizing that everything will be okay. That good won over evil
Brad grew up with the series Ninjago. It came out when he was a kid and he instantly fell in love. First with the show and then with the now main character Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon (after a truly embarrassing gay awakening). The long running series kept him going through the ups and downs of his life, where he’d make sure he’d tune in for the next piece of that media dropped (whether it be a season, book, game, podcast, or more).
Outside of his Ninjago obsession, Brad lived a relatively normal life. Balancing college, work, and a social life. But he knew that no matter what, after a long day he could rewatch some of his comfort content.
But this all changed one day when Brad woke up to the actual Lloyd Garmadon in his apartment
Basically, this is pure crack
It’s just Brad panicking and trying to keep Lloyd from being discovered, Lloyd trying to carry on like usual despite the existentialism of learning that his existence in this universe (his life, his pain, his suffering) is to entertain children and teach them morals, and Brad having to keep Lloyd from beating up a random guy and for the love of god, Lloyd you better not use your powers because I swear—!
Everyone who writes Michael and Gregory as a father-son duo are missing the best nickname
Micheal is British and British people call their kids a “good egg”. So Mike should call Gregory “Geggy” because Gregory is his little good egg. Like, it’s right there!

I think this is my best bet. I know the plot of pretty much every episode. A majority (a slight majority, but 50.0000001% is still a majority) of the Test Family’s antics are contained to their property. If it ever does escape their property, no one ever dies. I don’t have to train and fight to survive. Some of the antics are kinda fun. I wouldn’t have to get involved if I didn’t want to

AU where Lloyd was born around the time as the rest of the ninja and was kicked out of Darkley’s at an even younger age. Around the time he was four or five (only a year or two into his schooling). So he grew up in the forest and had to rely entirely on his instincts to survive
Or the Green Ninja is a feral half-oni, half-dragon teenager

- The Ninja find Lloyd after hearing reports of a figure with scales, thinking Lloyd is the serpentine. He’s obviously not, but after he saves one of the ninja’s life (you decide), they are chill with Lloyd following them back to the bounty
- Lloyd LOVES sticking his head out of the window as they drive back to the Bounty
- Wu immediately recognizes Lloyd (because who else would have both Oni and Dragon traits?) and is joyful because he was reported dead years ago
