The point shouldn't be to identify for sure 100% what is ai art and what isn't. I keep seeing posts advising one to look out for wonky perspective (as if perspective doesn't routinely trip up even the most experienced artists) or to pay attention to fudged detailing (as if impressionism wasn't one of the most influential artistic movements in history), and I think that's coming from a good place but frankly it's a losing battle. Remember when everyone was on about counting the fingers or counting the teeth, and a week later they had that shit ironed out completely? All you're really doing is giving these people more data points to work with to refine their algorithm. It's just going to be constantly shifting goalposts, and at a certain point real artists are going to get exhausted trying to make their art look as not algorithmically generated as possible. It'll be impossible to keep up.
So what should we do? Honestly, I think old practices are still best practices. Find real artists and follow them. Don't repost art, and dont spread reposted art. If something doesn't have a source, skip it. Support artists you like, either by sharing their work directly or donating. And if someone's work looks suspicious? Maybe give them a second look. See some of their other art before jumping to conclusions.
And yes, that means sometimes, you're gonna be tricked. Some people are going to fly under the radar and pass off ai art as their own. And that sucks, and they're liars, but you can't let the obsession with bad actors police real artists out of their communities, or discourage new artists from entering the scene.

[OC] afternoon nap ✧・゚°
The Third House
In the kingdom you live in a child’s 10th Christmas is a big deal because they receive a dragon in their stocking to care for. It’s always a mystery what kind of dragon they are going to recieve. As the kings child you expect one of the majestic winter beasts or the wild fiery dragons. Instead you get what is viewed as the most bland species: an Earth dragon. But you soon discover your Earth dragon to be anything but bland.
No-one knows why they come at midwinter. Every child asks, and no parent ever really answers. All we know is that on our tenth midwinter, the longest night, we set out a basket. At some time during the night, a dragon will appear in it. No-one ever sees it happen. Plenty of people have tried, but they fall asleep, or look away for a moment, or sneeze… something always happens.
Everyone has a dragon. They’re not the big monsters of legend… they start out tiny, anywhere between the size of a rat to the size of a puppy. Something a child can pick up. As adults, they’re anywhere between three and eight feet. They are unmistakeably magical creatures - they don’t eat much, for their size, and they all have some power. Fire, or ice, or wind, or something.
I was so excited, that midwinter. I was a princess, after all. Surely my dragon would be special, too. Something exciting, like the sparkling white Ice dragons, or the dark, gleaming Fire dragons, or the colourful, crystalline Light dragons. It took me a very long time to go to sleep, and when I woke up I ran to the basket before the fire in my nightgown, despite the cold.
I was so disappointed I could have cried.

Random mechanic Idea: Boosted Rolls
It's so weird that pass without trace is one of the only spells or abilities that add flat numbers (and big numbers at that) to rolls, and that great weapon master/sharp shooter are some of the only ones that subtract. While I'm usually all for rolling more dice, I think there's a game design space we can play in where players are able to get more out of their rolls than just shifting advantage in their favor.
What I immediately thought of was research in libraries: far too often in critical role the party will seek out an archive of great learning and Matt will ask them to make a knowledge check as a form of research, but that isn't much different than them doing a knowledge check on their own. Imagine if you would that libraries added an automatic +5 or +10 depending on their size and selection, allowing a player's roll to clear additional hurdles of difficulty that they normally wouldn't.
I could likewise see bonuses to craft checks in well equiped workshops, or benefits to medicine while inside a hospital.
To clarify: the days of 3.5/pathfinder where you could stack half a dozen different flat bonuses and make the dice roll all but perfunctory is NOT something I want to return to. I'm specifically talking in this case about flat bonuses being granted for things OUTSIDE the character's abilities/equipment, things they can't take with them on the adventure to encourage them to build up a base/gain access to exclusive areas. I'm distinctly on the side of bounded accuracy, I just want there to be a reasonable course of action for the party to take when they encounter a challenge that's outside their current abilities.
