living in your ask box today but yeah, I believe they don't grasp that meta forms around what people see perform well, what they enjoy playing and what ends up being the mixture of both whether it's comp play or even at your locals unless your locals is everyone on a pet deck in which case, awesome.

I've always heard people bring up set rotation but I'm not sure how it'd work for yugioh tbh? tbf I don't really understand it in general.
I'm a person who had to take a like 6 year break from yugioh in order to do schooling stuff and throughout those 6 years I had no idea what was going on, what was being innovated on etc. Like when I left magical musketeers was in the process of being lauded as the up and coming next best thing just to show you what I mean
and I just, got back in, looked what people were doing, watched some competitive matches and went "oh okay I get it again"
so maybe it's me being...haughty? unempathetic? for not being able to understand this specific brand of person when I kinda just went "yeah meta shifts and sucks sometimes if a deck came out and became your baby but it is what it is"

Not liking the side deck is having a problem with the rules of the game itself, not the decks that use the rules to their advantage. If it's that important to them there's literally Master Duel.
There's a lot that could be said about set rotation, I personally think it would be catastrophic to the game because a ton of strategies will lose key cards simply because they've been out for a while. Think HEROs, or Synchron. It would also defeat the purpose of the deckbuild sets and all of Genesis format. Again, disastrous in a way that isn't a big deal in something like pokemon.
Next Zoodiac format! Too bad absolutely nothing came from it. Truly today's cards yesterday's gameplay. That was right when the fiendsmiths released iirc so you got the absolute blessing of skipping VSK9 format Mitsu format and Yummy format. Breaks are good, burnout sucks and games should be fun
