alone at the edge of a universe...

You walk into a building on ground floor level. It suddenly feels like you're in the basement. You're walking down a flight of stairs. You're walking down a flight of stairs. You're walking down a flight of stairs. You're walking down a flight of stairs. The order of the room numbers makes no sense. You're walking down a flight of stairs. You're walking down a flight of stairs. You're-

The fog is creeping over the trees surrounding campus. You can't make out any of the surrounding buildings or landscape. The lights are all blurring in the fog. There's a red light blinking on a crane somewhere but you can't make it out.

One of the bathrooms in the library is completely purple, floor to ceiling. The lights are too bright. You walk back in the next day. It's suddenly all green. You check and realize you're not on the same floor anymore even though you could have sworn you were in the same place as yesterday. You're walking down a flight of stairs.

Someone is playing on the piano by the cafeteria. The sound travels far, you can even hear it outside the building, staring out into the fog. There's always someone playing on that piano even when you're sure no one should be in that building.
