"You don’t look fine. Or sound fine. Do you need any help? Like, is there anything I can do?

"There's nothing you can do. It's my NerveGear."

She lied once the pain lessened to the point that she could talk again. If she was using a NerveGear she wouldn't be in this kind of pain. But since she was using the Medicuboid and being the first user she knew the risks and what would happen once she entered that room.

"What the hell is going on?"

She cried out in shock before taking a breath and pulling herself together. She thought about what to say to him.

"What the hell is going on?"

She cried out in surprise. She knew that she was sitting right here and had no idea who was walking over there.

"How can I be there and here at the same time!??"

Asuna had her back to the road so she didn't realize that another Asuna just passed by them. She looked at Kirito a bit angry, she just told him her closely guarded secret and his response was asking who she was! This was almost as bad as when she landed on top of him when she ran through the transport ate and landed on top of him.

"Who do you think Baka! I just spilled out my closest secret and you ask who am I?"

"Kirito-kun! Calm down! I'm actually kind of grateful to Kayaba!" 

She told him once the wave of pain subsided. She then just sat down right there. She took a deep breath in and tried to figure out how to exactly phrase this.

"Whenever you asked me if I wanted to go back I lied. In the other world I'm stuck in a room and I am never leaving that room for the rest of my life. I am never going to see the outside world again. Here I don't have that restriction, I can go anywhere I want and I can do something to help others. That's why I fight on the front lines. For me this world is much better than the real one, but for many others that isn't the case. I fight so they can leave."

"Oh god.." Kirito tried to avoid crying, but the thought of losing Asuna hurt him more than when he watched his other friends slaughtered, a large lump in his throat formed as he tried to process words.

"At best three years, worst case, any day now."

Asuna told the other as she was brought to her knees by not her emotions but rather the effect of the Medicuboid. She had ≪Lambent Light≫ out in a flash and was using it to support herself as the pain washed over her.

"Terminal?! What the fuck when did this happen?!" Kirito’s eyes flared up in a panic. His pulse was starting to elevate faster. "Asuna, how long have you been keeping this from me?!"

"Since we met. In the real world, I’m in the terminal care in the real world. I have been since two months before the SAO closed beta."

She muttered as she couldn’t look at him anymore. Just one glance told her the entire story of how he was feeling. This was the exact reason why she kept her real status from him. It broke her heart, seeing someone she held so close to her in this shape. It pained her to see her best friend look like his entire world was just shattered

"Kirito-kun... I've dual wield since the 60th boss fight. I thought you used only one sword."

She replied, sheathing both blades. She was honestly getting a headache from this. Nothing was making sense, and then there was a nagging feeling that she wasn't talking to Kirito.. Well she knew she was, there was just something different about him. 

"This better not be a handicap Kayaba is giving me."

Asuna mumbled underneath her breath. A frown was on her face as she shook her head. 

"Just because I'm terminal doesn't mean I'm helpless."
