hi!! thank you very much for your concern 🥹❤️ i’m okay, but there was a huge wildfire near my home recently. it went on for days, the roads in and out of town were shut down because the fires had reached them, we had no water, and there were frequent power cuts. thankfully nothing happened to my family or my house tho. i never thought i’d say this, but we were lucky there was another wildfire near us last summer, so there was nothing left to burn and we were safe this time 🙃

unfortunately, more than a dozen people (firefighters and volunteers) have died while fighting the fires. i have so much to say about how our government is failing (like always) in handling this. i’m so tired of reliving the same horrible events over and over again, and not a single thing changing bc of politicians’ incompetence and egos. there’s also the very real possibility that all these wildfires were started on purpose (or, at least, some of them could’ve been prevented had there been proper inspections), but i won’t get into it bc all the stress this country has been putting me through for years is really starting to affect my health, and if i start to rant here i won’t be able to stop :)

You can talk to me whenever you want and about whatever you want. And I don't mind you ranting to me at all. I'd actually be very happy to help you with getting the weight off of your heart.

It's sometimes easier to talk to people you don't know in real life. You don't have to of course.

She didn’t run for election; she was appointed, without her knowledge, while she was living and working in a completely different part of the country. She just received a call one day telling her to come back to her childhood home, because she was in charge now.

So she did; and when she arrived, she discovered widespread sexual abuse of children. She browbeat 50 uncooperative local leaders into accepting her decision to annul all the marriages. She then fired four of them when they continued to allow children to be married off in their areas. She still faces widespread opposition from parents who consider it their right to sexually abuse their daughters if they want to; but Kachindamoto very evidently does not give a fuck, and is continuing to use political and legal means to protect children in the region.
