This is Cashew Bean. She is small and soft and cute, and she's mine. So far, I've discovered that she likes hair ties, sleeping on tables, going on rampages at 4 am, and is afraid of the cat that keeps showing up in the mirror in my bedroom (spoiler: it's her). I am very happy and excited to have this tiny creature as my fur pal for a lifetime and as a companion as I enter into this next stage of my life. ALSO JUST LOOK HOW CUTE SHE IS I CANT STAND IT. I presented my research for the last time yesterday, and now I'm on my way home from my very last conference as an undergrad with the SNU McNair Scholars Program. 😭😭 (at Memphis, Tennessee)

but here i am. ready to make things sad and to express how much i hate my life so that’s cool. i currently feel like i’m living in a dream, which has pretty much been my existence for the past like 2-3ish years. but it’s recently gotten a lot worse. nothing feels real or like it matters at all. and it’s not like being depressed, it’s like literally watching my life in a dream or movie. i just sit here listening to music trying to feel like a person and do homework so that i can survive my last semester. it’s a lot. everything is a lot. but also nothing matters because none of it feels real. the world around me seems like it’s built out of cardboard. nothing feels right or good. i’m not sad, but i’m pretty much nothing. it used to come in waves, but these last few weeks i’ve been flooded with it, and it’s around more than it’s not. and that’s a little scary. but i’m just trying to make it.
