How life changes, and how our thoughts and perspectives shift with it, is an interesting thing to process.
People change, paths change, and sometimes the rhythm of how we connect with others changes too. Some people remain close in the day to day, while others ebb and flow. But I have realized that distance in time does not erase the mark someone leaves on your heart. It does not erase the memories, the conversations, the ideas, the photos, or the moments that shaped who I am.
Growing and reflecting is such an important part of life. Therapy has helped me understand the value of being kinder to myself, and accepting that everyone has their own experiences, challenges, and reasons for how they move through life. I know anxiety and depression can be incredibly heavy. They can make connection feel exhausting or impossible sometimes. I get that.
Lately, I have been spending more time outside, exercising, and trying to find light in the small things. But even in my quietest moments, I think about the people who have been part of my story.
I have been thinking about how some bonds are like two halves of a whole. Different in nature, sometimes opposite in how we move through the world, but quietly completing a bigger picture. Those connections do not need constant words or daily contact to be real. They just exist. They just are.
So I want to say this plainly and gently. I do not need a daily text. But I need you to know that my door is not closed. It has never been closed. If you ever feel like reaching out, if you ever need a space to just exist, or if you just want to share a memory, I am here. There is no pressure, no guilt, and no expiration date on my care for you.
And as for me, I am learning to embrace my own voice, my accent, my own self. It is part of who I am. And part of who I am is someone who holds space for the people who mattered, even when life gets quiet.
If you are reading this and it feels familiar, just know this. Your distance is valid. if you ever choose it. The door is open.
