ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES MASSACRE PALESTINIAN FAMILY IN THE SOUTHERN GAZA STRIP

📸 Photographs of some of the victims following the latest Israeli occupation airstrikes targeting a site and a residential home in the city of Rafah, in the south of Gaza, killing at least two children, while later reports say three children and a woman, as well as several others were killed.

According to reporting by Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli warplanes bombed a site and a residential home sheltering displaced civilians families, massacring 7 civilians, including three children and a woman.

The Israeli cabinet has just voted to accept a deal with Hamas! ❗️

The full details of the deal are not public, but here’s what is currently expected:

• Fifty Israeli women & children held in Gaza would be released in exchange for a temporary ceasefire of four to five days.

• About 150 Palestinian women and children are expected to be released from Israeli jails.

• There will be a 24-hour period following the release of a list of Palestinian names to allow for legal appeals.

• Ten captives are expected to be released each day during the course of the pause in fighting. It has been reported that Israel is willing to give an additional day of pause for every 10 further captives released by Hamas.

• About 300 trucks of aid, including fuel, are expected to be allowed into the Gaza Strip.

• Israel has reportedly agreed not to fly drones for 6 hours per day.

• During the pause, Israel says it will refuse to allow Palestinians to return to their homes in northern Gaza.

When will this happen?

Several steps need to happen before the bombing of Gaza pauses and the Palestinian & Israeli captives are swapped.

1. Israel needs to officially inform Qatar, which is mediating between Israel & Hamas, of its acceptance

2. Qatar will officially announce the deal

3. A 24-hour period when any Israeli can challenge the deal in the Israeli High Court.

4. ^ If these challenges fail, the first round of captive swaps will take place, likely on Thursday or Friday.

The Israeli cabinet has agreed to a temporary ceasefire deal that will enable the release of about 50 people who have been held captive in Gaza since the Hamas armed group stormed southern Israel on October 7.

The agreement came after talks on a Qatar-mediated deal that continued into the early hours of Wednesday morning, with Israeli media reporting heated exchanges between ministers of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

The prime minister’s office said the deal would require Hamas to release at least 50 women and children during a four-day truce.  For every additional 10 hostages released, the pause would be extended by a day, it said, without mentioning the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange.

Hamas, which controls Gaza, also released a statement, confirming that 50 women and children held in the territory would be freed in exchange for Israel releasing 150 Palestinian women and children from Israeli jails.

It said that Israel would also stop all military actions in Gaza and that hundreds of trucks carrying humanitarian, medical and fuel aid would be allowed into the territory.
