Man vs Wild
As a child, we all had that time when we were grounded by our mother, and as a punishment, she would cancel all the channels that would telecast cartoons. Yes, even I had that era, which lasted for two months because I ended up guessing the password. Honestly, it made me feel like a genius, but before that, I was a sad child with no cartoons, so I ended up watching channels like Animal Planet, Discovery, and BBC Earth. Interestingly, they did not bore me to death; I rather enjoyed it. One show that inspired me was Man vs Wild, starring Bear Grylls. That man became the definition of invincible to me. Whatever terrain it might be, he would always survive. He was not just strong, but he had so much knowledge.
That small girl sitting on a sofa in front of the TV with a bowl of Maggie had decided she wanted to be Bear Grylls. I was determined to be that, and as I grew older, I pursued my dream to become Bear Grylls. Till I was in 6th grade, I wanted to be him, but then reality hit, and I realized that this girl neither had the mussels to survive nor the money to travel that far. So, I gave up on that, but did not want to give up on my dream. I might not had mussels and money, but I did have my precious camera. A beautiful Cannon alpha Cybershot and my brain. So I kept climbing the ladder to my dream, but this time, it was not to be Bear Grylls but to be a part of the wild. I want to capture it all with my lens, travel everywhere possible, and be a part of the crazy team of explorers and wildlife photographers, and I am still working on that.
This was my story of how I got my passion; what is yours tell me, I would love to know and read your stories.
