“...Rantaro-kun.”

The soldier’s voice is low, quiet. A warning. Golden eyes are narrowed. His gaze is calculative. Few and far in between, if any, can catch the Super High School Level Soldier. To be put into such a situation? To be caught, to be caged.

His mind races to assess the situation. Their captors chose Rantaro-kun over his brother. Of course, they’re both of equal importance to him. But would their captors know that? Typically speaking, one goes for family first over friends.

The room is too dark to ascertain any specific details just yet. Saihara’s waiting for his eyes to adjust. He and Rantaro-kun are back to back, but cuffs keep them in place. Whatever sick game they’re about to be pulled into will reveal itself soon enough.

“I am not sacrificing you. I won’t.”

Sunlight pours in lightly, in between the clouds. A lull in the middle of the afternoon, and they’ve ended up back in bed. There’s plenty they could go and do. Adventure calls to him. It always does. A boy out on the sea, up in the mountains, lost in the woods… That’s his truest self. And having a partner to share it with is a dream come true.

Lazy moments aren’t so bad either, he finds. There’s no need to rush either. These little moments together. Rantaro wants to cherish them. To drill them into memory. It’s been quite the road to get here. A path full of uncertainties, questions, doubt.

Yet… He holds no doubt now, no reservations.

An arm wraps around his middle and pulls him closer.

Green eyes flicker open, narrowing playfully. He leans over and kisses him, then speaks teasingly.

“Seems like you’re only getting more scandalous by the day.”

Rantaro mimics a saithink which fades into a warm grin soon after. Both of his arms hook around Shuichi’s middle.
