i dont have time or energy to get mad about anything online rn but if i did it would be the post i saw yesterday abt how bangel shippers should "get over" a relationship that was a few weeks of buffys life when she was 16. sorry lol but that is quite literally the point of the show, this enormously formative and traumatic thing happens to her, and then keeps happening to her over the course of three seasons mind you, and getting over it takes her the whole show. her arc and her understanding of self is so completely wrapped up in angel BECAUSE HE HAPPENS TO HER WHEN SHE IS 16. and shapes any desire she might feel afterwards as either an echo or a reaction to how she felt with him! and buffy has plenty of other formative relationships but it is SOOO annoying to me to write off bangel just bc its problematic or whatever. i find it to be such a tangibly purposeful investigation of that kind of relationship and how it can feel so good and so bad. you just hate him because of the things that he does and the way that he is >:(
