can we bring back the term "fair-weather friend" bc I feel like if fair-weather friends got called that more this whole argument about whether or not you should be there for your friends when it's inconvenient/at what point of personal inconvenience it's ok to bail on your friends would kinda fall apart bc like. we literally have a word for "friend who's only there when you don't need something from them" because the baseline expectation is that a friend should be there even when it sucks. like we used to make fun of people for bailing on their friends.

We gotta stop aiming for unique and interesting baby names we gotta start naming every single infant straight-shot middle-of-the-road ass popular common unisex names like Alex and Sam. By the end of 2031 I wanna see 100% of kindergarten children named either Alex or Sam and you know what, let’s make ‘em all Smiths and Johnsons, too. In an age of digital tracking give your baby the gift of total functional anonymity within the panopticon

this is going around again and the tags are full of people talking about printing it out to put in their breakroom or cubicle or sending it to their coworkers, which fills me with great joy. vast diversity of professions represented also. zoos. labs. summer camps. restaurants. garden centers. libraries. schools. many reports from the brave warriors of assorted retail. a truth universally acknowledged: if there is a sign a customer will not read it <3 and they don't read emails either <3

it really is so awesome seeing my mutuals who were also teenagers back in 2021 being full grown adults now with like. hobbies / wives / jobs / apartments / etc posting like "just finished medical school!" "going to the grocery store for milk soon dont let me forget" "should i sue my place of employment yes or no" "my husband says i need to stop posting and go to bed" "another doctors appointment tomorrow hopefully this one goes well" "getting high in my childhood bedroom who cheered" "finally got my lithuanian citizenship!"' "going to residential treatment tomorrow wish me luck" "hey guys look at my dog [12 images attached]" "doing fiber arts and watching tv in my room again today tomorrow who knows" etc etc it's all so wonderful. we are all real people growing up together :-) i love you
