Suicide tw, neglect twÂ
Liam was 12 when they moved to Lockwood and he struggles to remember what life was like before then. Bouncing around from place to place with Jenny was an adventure for a few years (as only young children can rationalize instability in their lives) but as he grew older, he began to resent being shuffled around. So when they settled in Lockwood, it was a moment of respite for him and his four siblings. Half-sibling status made no difference to him, they were family through and through.
He tried looking for his dad once but it turns out that his mom had lied on his birth certificate and that âTurnerâ was just a name she liked. It mightâve been helpful to have that other parent around, though, because a year after getting to Lockwood, their lives were turned upside down. CPS got involved and a new nightmare began.Â
They were each shuffled away to different homes over the next few years as their mom didnât get her act together. He remained as close as he could with his siblings but they all had to learn how to survive on their own over the years. He began to accept that heâd never know stability and began to adapt to the reality of his situation: life was hard and no one gave a shit about you. His siblings were the only exception to this belief.Â
Over the years he learned to hustle, picking up odd jobs here and there, his cleverness sometimes making him overconfident and his competitiveness making him reckless.Â
He was sent to juvi for a year when he was sixteen for attempted grand theft auto and when he got out he kept doing whatever he could to make a buck and stick close to his brothers and sisters. (Heâs still messing with cars but has done a better job of not getting caught and also dabbles in some drag racing)
When one of his sisterâs took her own life, his world was shaken. Liam and his siblings leaned on each other to make it through but bitterness against the system continued to take root in him and eventually grew into bitterness against all systems of authority and oppression.
Being around Liam can be frustrating when heâs set his mind to something and heâs not very respectful of wrong opinions (see: any that donât align with his for the most part). Heâs actually a lot of fun if youâre friends with him but heâs not one to let his guar down too easily with those he doesnât know. Heâs currently living with his siblings on Southside and working two jobs. How heâs got two jobs is anyoneâs guess but it doesnât take a genius to throw sauce on dough and pour a few beers for idiots.Â

Having Jenny Price as a mother has killed the part of Nicoleâs brain that makes people wonder if drugs are truly as bad as theyâre made out to be. Sheâs seen firsthand that they in fact are, however, sheâs not exactly the spokesperson for any sort of anti drug campaign. She never claimed not to be a hypocrite either. Sheâs not the biggest fan, but Nic can count on one hand the times sheâs been high. Each time just weed, never alone, and always in the company of others. When the pretty girl at the skatepark offered her a few hits from her pen, Nicole didnât exactly have the mind or the confidence to tell her no. So now sheâs home, stoned beyond belief and standing idly in front of the fridge she forgot to open. But everything is so⌠everything. All of her senses, she can feel, see, taste, hear, smell it all. She laughs a little to herself, amused and deep in thought about how magnets work when she feels the presence of one of her brothers. Mouth ajar, Nic slowly turns her head and finds Liam. How long has he been standing there? âWhat?â Her voice rasps slightly from the coughing fit she had earlier, brows furrowing and paranoia starting to sink in. Sheâs not being obvious, is she? âWhy are you looking at me like that?â
Liam kicks off his shoes as soon as he gets home, tossing his backpack on the couch and heading to the kitchen for food. Neon Boots had been packed and heâs pretty sure he smells like cheap beer thanks to some girl spilling her drink down his shirt as he tried to clean up another mess. He walks into the kitchen and stops short, rubbing his eyes at the sight of his sister on the floor there. It takes him a second to say anything, sighing instead when she turns around. âYou good, Nic?â Liam prompts, walking around her and grabbing the orange juice heâd bought that was almost gone even though heâd not had a single sip. Liam twists the lid off and chugs the rest from the carton as he waits for her to respond. And, realizing she probably wonât, he moves past her, scooting her leg away with his foot so he can close the white-yellow tinted door. âNot looking at you like anything. Youâre just sitting there.â Clearly high as a kite but he wasnât judging.Â
âYeah? How observant are you? Observe this.â Jaime flicked up his middle finger, a proud smile on his face before he lowered it. He tried to enjoy the drink Liam gave him, even if it came with a slice of commentary he didnât ask for. âI just think itâs fucked how they donât even give you free pizza to take home. Unless they do and you just eat it all like a pig.â he looked down at Liamâs not so apparent gut but there was no harm making his brother a little paranoid. âOh says the playboy himself, when was the last time you had a girl? Kas makes it fucking impossible for any of us.â he said bitterly, because how many fucking times would they be kicked out of their own trailer just so he could get a piece. âThatâs exactly what I count as interesting. What happened?â
â˘
Liam snorts, rolling green eyes at the offensive motion. Except it takes more than that to offend him, having grown up with Jai and Kas as brothers. Thick skin was a necessity. âYeah, Iâm just housing entire fucking pizza pies day after day,â he says, serving some guy who was asking for whatever they had on draft and while he could explain every option, Liam figures the he doesnât give a fuck. So he serves him and glances back over at his brother. âYou know you could actually get a job, right? Then you wouldnât have to mooch off me. Might even able to afford your own car in ten to twenty years,â he snickers as he teases his brother. âKas has a type" anything with legs really, âbut if you avoid them you can find people. Why, you in the market or something?â He arches a brow before shrugging and nodding at the bar. âSome guys were hitting on them or something. I donât know. Tried to buy them drinks which apparently you canât do anymore and I guess the Joneses didnât appreciate it.â
âHey man, got a minute?â Liam asks when he finds DJ in the backroom. The rush was over and the last table had just left for the night. Heâd been cleaning up a bit, avoiding the inevitable but ten oâclock was rolling around and theyâd be heading out soon. He needs to tell DJ. âItâll be quick.â But heâs not sure itâll be painless. @dougie-andersonâ
âI mean, I do that anyways. May as well get paid for it. Good thinking.â Kas tapped his temple with a sardonic grin. Jobs werenât his forte, he had about two under his belt and got fired from both. He knew that he had a problem with authority, so he needed something where he could beat the living crap out of someone and not be carted off to jail. Because apparently, punching your manager after turning up three hours late was not a done thing. âYeah but Bobby fucking Anderson as a dad.â Kas said, not to be sympathetic but there was certainly pity there. Sometimes he was glad they didnât have actual fathers to worry about, just step-dads they were introduced to over the span of their lives. âYeah? Good looks, huh?â Kas goaded his brother casually as they strolled out of the gas station like it was a normal weekday. It was, really. âIâd like to see someone break your jaw, just a little, nothing serious. So we donât have to hear your smartass comments all the time.â he laughed before absentmindedly offering his keys to Liam. Until his actual rational side kicked in and he hooked them back into his palm before his brother could take them. âAh-ah. You think I was born yesterday? No driving my camaro.â
â˘
Liam rolls his eyes at Kas, âsee if they hire you first dickhead.â Who knows, maybe they would and then Liam would have to eat his words. He casts an incredulous look at his brother, brow raised into his hairline. âOkay? Would fucking suck. Glad it wasnât us.â It would suck and heâs sure it did for the Anderson but not his circus, not his monkeys. Heâs just glad the fucked up father train left the station before he and his siblings could get on. âWell get in line, Kas, youâre not special,â Liam dismisses with a scoff, wondering how many people wouldâve like to have a go at him. âBesides, think you should be worried about your own face. Whoâre you fighting next? I wanna know who I should bet on,â he snickers, knowing heâd probably bet on Kas but if Ruben got in the ring...well, that probably changes to a might. He nearly has the keys before theyâre being taken away and Liam glares. âYou let Jai drive it.â he protests as he reluctantly gets into the passenger seat, mumbling as he does. âFucking double standards.âÂ

âAre there even any jobs after youâre done hoarding âem all?â Kas had thought about getting a day job, especially for when fight weeks were slow but the idea of having to get up early just to listen to someone spout orders at him made him angry. âProbably, or ran off. Their old man is back, probably made âem all weirder than usual.â he mumbled, grateful that none of them had that issue. The issue was Jenny Price still nestled up in the trailer next door, and her new kids wandering around. Watching Liam move to the cameras, Kas quickly did what was needed, stowing away their small haul into his jacket as he scoffed. âWhy donât you sign up for a few, man? Then Iâll win easy.â he retorted, despite working as a team in an effortless flow before sauntering back to his car. âIf I go back to jail over twizzlers, Iâm making it everybodyâs problem.â
â˘
âIâd say get a job at Restricted Access but theyâd probably throw your ass out for hitting on the dancers.â His brother isnât exactly subtle about his conquests (basically anything with two legs and somewhat long hair). âDonât think their old man has anything to do with Dusty being shit at his job,â Liam notes dryly because he thinks you can ignore your parents if you try hard enough. Half the time he forgets Jenny is right next door and the other half he wishes he could forget, usually when she has a guest over. Talk about thin fucking walls. The last thing her kids need is another sibling from their whore mom (thought of as an unfortunate fact not a judgmentâŚheâll leave that for the town mob). He sticks  another twizzler in his mouth while moving the camera and rolls his eyes. âBecause unlike you, Iâve actually got something to lose in a fight. Mainly my good looks,â he snickers before trailing after Kas, gesturing to the keys. âWe wonât. Let me drive.â Even though most people with half a brain (which Kas has at least that) know better than to give Liam a set of keys due to his âhistory of reckless drivingâ or whatever the judge had said when theyâd taken his license the last time. Still, he never stops asking.
âJesus Christ, canât you get a third job at this shit hole?â Kas was almost ready to start shoving everything into his pockets but he wasnât in the mood for jail time over something so dumb. âFucking Anderson is never here.â he slammed his hand on the counterâs plastic casing, glaring down the way to the back room. âDusty, you piece of shit.â Kas called out, having to stare at the ceiling for a few moments to calm himself. âFuck it, cover the camera.â he said quietly to Liam.
âHereâs a brilliant fucking idea, why donât you?â If it was up to his brothers, Liam would be working a million jobs. Fucking charity cases. He doesnât state the obvious that Kas can just leave the cash and go because that would be too easy and Kasâ main personality trait was making things more complicated than they had to be. âHeâs probably out back or something,â though he doubts it but he knows whatâs coming before it does and he sighs before jumping into gear. Sticking one of the twizzlers heâd just broken open in his mouth, Liam nods at Kas. âMaybe if you won more fights, youâd have more cash and we wouldnât need to do this shit,â he complains even as he does what his older brother says, covering the camera in a rapid motion so Kas can stuff the shit into his jacket.Â

Jaime watched the obvious happen right in front of his eyes and he took a deep breath. âYouâre an asshole.â he retorted, but that wasnât a new revelation or anything nobody else said or thought. âYour other job will pay for it.â he laughed because Jai always assumed Liam to be rolling around in cash after getting two jobs. âYeah well, you wanna buy a car for me money bags? Then I wonât have to keep borrowing his.â he sighed. It was on his list, right under new socks. âThank you and fuck you.â Jai then grinned, toasting the air when he caught the drink. âAnything go down tonight? Spence punched anyone?â
â˘
âAnd youâre observant,â Liam responds with a shrug because this is how they are with each other. Their family isnât typical, never was and never would be ââ they said things like they were (for the most part) rather than beat around the bush. âYeah, until you come by asking for a free slice every goddamn day like Kas. Then what jobâs paying for that? Next one Iâm getting is gonna be at the goddamn flower shop. Then yâall canât ask me for shit.â Though heâs sure theyâd still find a way. âGet a bike, smart one. And I mean a manual two-wheeler.â He snorts, âDonât worry either â Wonât ruin your rep. Girls arenât interested in you anyway.â Liam grins before glances around at the bar that had gradually gotten more crowded by the hour. He shakes his head. âNah, not unless you count Tammie and Nora shutting up some guys with a cue stick.â
âMan, can I get a beer with your discount?â Jai asked, almost joining his brother behind the bar where he was working. That was the problem with their family, boundaries were difficult but that was probably because they never knew what the fuck those were. Each of them pretty much assumed they could do what they wanted. âI had to pay back Kas because I needed to borrow his car.â he explained, because most things with Kas came with a price family or not. âThis time I had to give him interest and gas.â he laughed about it even though it basically ate half of his wage, which he thought felt like a scam but whatever.
â˘
âNah, no free drinks, even for employees,â Liam replies as he pours himself one, taking a swig before pouring another one for an actual paying customer. âDude, if you get me fired, youâre gonna have to pay me back too.â Because heâd definitely only get fired because of his brotherâs actions and not his own. âYou know Kas will make you sign a contract in blood saying you owe him your firstborn too if he could. Why do you agree to that shit?â Seems stupid and heâs not afraid to show that he thinks as much as he slides his drink down the way to Jai. âDonât say I never did anything for you, broke bitch.â Said with a wry laugh, as though he wasnât also broke working two jobs.Â
