A grin tugged at Emersyn's lips. "That's either the best idea I've heard all day or the exact reason people end up in international incident documentaries."
She fell into step beside him anyway. "Lead the way, Captain. Let's see what Tokyo's got for us."
"A dream come true honestly." He mused as as he slipped his phone out of his pocket to seek the name of the bar he'd written down before his arrival.
"Aye aye." He added, pocketing the device as he held up a finger. "Stop number one. We're looking for a bar appropriately named Deathmatch in Hell. Apparently they make a hell of a cocktail and if we're lucky, is just divey enough to maybe get out hands on some gold old fashioned Maryjane."
Emersyn laughed, shaking her head. "Funny, I live in Pirate's Cove too, and somehow that skill never rubbed off on me."
She glanced down the brightly lit street before looking back at him. "But maybe you're right. If we're already lost, we might as well see where Tokyo decides to take us first."
"Your training manual probably just got lost in the mail. Ironic, but if I were you I'd sue the post." He said as straight faced as he could as he prepared to lead them back until she continued.
"I mean, you're welcome to come along, but I should warn you, my intentions of getting lost may be a bit of the nefarious sorts. Trying to find something a little more entertaining than the sake I've found at every restaurant I've come across."
Tokyo felt different after dark.
Emersyn stood just outside a small convenience store in Shibuya, a canned coffee in one hand and a shopping bag dangling from the other. Neon signs painted the street in every color imaginable while crowds flowed around her like a river. She glanced down at her phone, realizing she'd somehow wandered farther from the hotel than she'd meant to.
Looking up, she spotted a familiar face in the crowd and let out a relieved laugh. "Please tell me you know how to get back to the hotel, because I'm about ninety percent sure I'm lost." @rededgerpstarterblog
Liam couldn't help but notice the irony of how two goals can exist at such opposite ends of the spectrum. While she'd was at the point in her day where it was time to return home, he'd set out with the goal of getting lost. Felt a certain degree of confidence that what he was searching for would be much easier to come across once the sun had gone down.
"I don't mean to brag but, back home I live in PC. We pirates are great at following the stars. I should be able to get you back. Although I'll say, lost isn't always a bad place to be."
"That's because it hasn't." Julian said with a chuckle. "Though, I don't think the Mayor actually cares enough about a 7-11 to make it like this." He added with a shrug and looked at the younger male. "Unless you like plan to start a riot or something, then the Mayor might care." He chuckled.
Liam's interest piqued at Julian's mention of the mayor, nodding his head along as he assured him that 7-11 was far from his last of interests. "Listen, I'm just saying if treating his township to these adventures of grandeur is a priority for him, maybe he could consider upgrading our 7-11's to server waffle flavored ice cream sandwiches. I've prepared myself to riot for less."

"I mean, I guess it did? It was just luck if I'm bein' honest." She shrugged and looked at him as she took a sip of her water. "Not to my knowledge, but to be fair, I was way too busy in Italy to stop and stay still for more than a day. I even got to learn how to make pasta from someone who was from Italy."
Liam smiled to himself at the mention of making her own pasta. While he imagined that was a skill he would not have exceeded at by any means it all still felt too simple in the grand scheme of things. "Is any of the art your own or are you just the one selling it? Also forgive me for just noticing, but I'm judging you just a little for walking around with water when that 7Eleven has every flavor of iced coffee in there you could possibly imagine."
"Shut up, so we basically grew up together." She laughed. "I didn't think it'd be my next top either, but life just brought me out here. I bet your grandparents love havin' you around though." She was glad she had met someone else from Georgia, especially since it meant she could slip back with her twang, instead of sounding like she didn't belong. "Oh, well, eventually the other shoe will drop, but we gotta have fun while we can, right?"
He clocked the small change in her infliction almost instantly. A sound that almost reminded him of home, if he could even really still call it that. "Well I mean, working for an art gallery honestly sounds awfully impressive. So seems like you're exactly where you're meant to be." He nodded as his fingers drummed on the edges of the cup. "Guess you have a point there. Any totally crazy shoes falling from the sky while you were in Italy?"
"I'm from Savannah, and I had to get out of there. My cousin actually lives in California and I work with him at his art gallery." She said with a smile. "How about you? Where are you from in good ole' Georgia?" She cocked her head to the side. "Oh I'm sure there will be another trip."
"Never going to believe this but same. I lived over near Clearview. So you could say I definitely understand the sentiment of wanting to get out." He mused as he stirred the spoon around in his cup. "Now grant it, did I ever expect California to be my next stop? No. But my grandparents needed help with their shop, and I needed a job. Just didn't think it'd come with surprise trips across the world. I feel like I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop."
"Oh trust me, I'm from Georgia, so this is a whole new world to me." She laughed and shook her head. "I can't say that I have gotten used to it, but this is only the second trip we've been on. Last time we were in Italy. I'm curious to see if any other trips happen, and if they do, where we'll go."
"Shit, is that so? I'm usually better at picking up a fellow Georgian. I feel like growing up there it was always the opposite. All the California transplants wanting a taste of the south. Glad to see I'm not the only member of the uno reverse club. What part?" He asked as he lowered his spoon back into its cup. The mention of Italy briefly causing the ice cream to get caught in his throat. "Jesus, Italy? Sounds like I've been missing out."
"There's a ppol at this resort and the best way to beat jet lag is by doing something and staying active. Now, are you going to come join me in this pool or try to sleep?" @rededgerpstarterblog
Liam let out an audible groan when Callum listed his options. His desire for either, exactly zero. "You know what also helps with beating jet lag? My dear old friend Maryjane. How bout I make you a deal. We hang out in the pool for like an hour and then you help me go find her?"

Violet laughed. "I mean, I'm sure if anywhere can handle it, it is back in Red Edge." She shrugged and looked at him. "Are you at least having fun in Japan or are you too in your own head?"
Liam shoved another spoonful of his ice cream into his mouth, marvelling at how much better it seemed to be than anything he'd tried before. Her question, catching him slightly off guard as the spoon paused in his mouth. "I mean you've gotta admit, it's a little outside the normal. Where I grew up the idea of anyone paying for a trip like this was unheard of. Still cool, but different. Do you ever get used to this?"
"So, you're telling me that we're in Japan for a whole month, and you want to try to find a McDonald's? Why?" @rededgerpstarterblog
"Three words man. Bacon. Potato. Pie. Any follow up questions can be directed to your nearest McDonalds team member. They're going where no McDonalds dares to go. Making dreams come true."
It had taken him a little time, but eventually he'd gotten to the point where he could stop questioning the impromptu trip to Japan enough to let himself enjoy it. Although, despite the glamour, it wasn't without it's challenges. Still, he found a sliver of peace in his new found form of entertainment. "I'm convinced our 7-Elevens back home haven't discovered their true potential. They need some monumental plot shift, or some Kenny Ortega Disney musical bullshit to realize how much better they can be." @rededgerpstarterblog
there’s nothing more satisfying than the sound of hitting someone solid in the fucking jaw.
