boy next door @iseullgc
Yoojin and Danny were the two put into Dorm B as the new additions to the group, so Danny took this as the opportunity to take a peek into Iseul and Hyoseop's dorm to see what their settling in or 'vibe' of the dorm was. Yes, he knows this is the prime opportunity to decorate his dorm the way he wants to, since he was out of the trainee's dorms, but there was something about overdecorating that made him feel ill rather than at ease, if he went ham with it. Knocking on Iseul's door, he pokes his head in. "I'm ready for the grand tour, Iseul!" Seriously, it didn't have to be anything fancy, just getting past the formalities and the achey vibes of 'Hey I'm the new guy that's added to Type Zero, at your service, please take care of me ladeeda'. At least they worked in the past, and rather recently too on the dance concert.
He had a few boxes in his own dorm, having not fully unpacked, ensuring that at least the lighting and his bed were good because if he's not doing anything else other than ensuring that he can knock the heck out after practice, then nothing would be up to par. The rest can be priorities later. "No, it doesn't have to be anything crazy but oohoo, wanted to see the place that you call home, especially since I'm going to be partially crashing in on to Dorm A... half joking."
she’s excited to show off her latest collection to her friends, even if it’s not necessarily their style. hyunhee doesn’t see danny wearing one of her belts, or even using the claw clips from last season, but he knows she can appreciate the vibes shes going for.
“can i tell you honestly? i put off naming the brand until the last minute and couldn’t think of a better name, so i just went with what i was going to ask to be my stage name when i was still training to be an idol,” she tells him. “my first pick was honey, for the stage name and the brand, but we already have an idol named honey, so . . .” hyunhee trails off, shrugging her shoulders.
“do you like it?” she asks, clapping her hands. “i know the brand is geared towards girls right now, but maybe i’ll release more belt buckles in the future. what do guys like?” she tilts her head. “skulls?”
hyunhee rises from her seat and goes to dig through the box she had brought out. “here’s the pink belt,” she says handing it to him. “and the star buckle. i made sure it was made out of real leather and not some cheap PVC material. doesn’t it feel nice?”
"There could always be two," Danny chuckles but he understands. There's some sort of ominous feeling when they were still active in the company. He saw something happening like that currently in the industry with Sakura and Sakura, and he'd rather not ever have to deal with that... "Feels a bit imposing, I understand. It's hard with picking a name that you're sticking with. It's not like an Instagram username that you could change later on."
So permanent. He hums, chewing his lip as he contemplates the symbols that males may enjoy more. "I think guys like skulls if they're a fan of certain subcultures or looks. Not so much for me. Crosses are very popular still. But...." He squints. Crosses usually only looked good in certain mediums and not necessarily on a belt. Or hair accessory.
Danny reaches out for the belt and touches it between his fingers, approving with a low hum. "It feels nice. I wouldn't have imagined a pink belt to ever be made out of leather so that changes my perspective. I always assumed bright colours with plastic. Everything feels so plastic nowadays, so its nice to know that you're not cutting corners where you can."
it felt lonely sometimes, if yoojin would be honest, even with all trainees coming and going, and the amount of classes, and their crazy practice schedules, it did feel lonely. he missed having more people around him, and he did make friends along the way, but most of them were now idols with a career and he didn't want to text them during an inappropriate time of the day just because he was bored.
and it was probably why he knocked on dorm's a door, waiting for the familiar face to show and greet him. yoojin didn't text @lgcdanny first, he just waited for him to open the door.
"hope you're as bored as I am." he offered the guy a smile, his laptop in one hand and a bag of sweet potato snack on top of it. "boys night?"
let's have a party, @lgcdanny ?
It's funny what the situation has become. When the door was knocked on, Danny had an inkling as to two potential possibilities. Either someone from the management or staffing team, or... one of his fellow trainee dormies who also was left alone in his dorm nowadays after all of the changes. He knew new trainees would come on board shortly, but damn. He hoped it was the latter. Danny took off his headset and set down the tablet, setting it away before going to open the door up. "Ohhhhh, Yoojin! Thank goodness."
"I hoped it wasn't me getting in trouble with staff or something like that. Not that I do anything that warrants getting me in trouble but you never know anymore. Glad it's you," Danny cackles and pushes the door open further allowing Yoojin to come in.
"Yes you've saved me from the pain of doomscrolling. I hope that you are hoping to watch a show or movie, and not doomscroll either because the only thing worse than doomscrolling along is group doomscrolling. Hmmm. I wasn't expecting company. Do you want a fizzy drink or something caffienated? I know it's a bit late but.. Eh, our sleep patterns are messed up as it is already."
vogue, vogue @lgchyunhee
"Very 90's maxxing. Or is it 00's? Y2K?" Before his time and all but it seems that this is what was coming back as a fashion reference. He didn't want to call it vintage, because he wasn't sure if that was what Hyunhee was going for. "I love that your brand is basically named after you. Very Vivienne Westwood or Coco Chanel of you," he chuckled while looking through her concept images, flipping through the images, legs crossed in his seat while prodding through. "And this is why you are in the fashion industry and I'm not, I just wear whatever the stylists put on me." He's not all that interested in curating an image of any sort for himself, because he knows that if he debuts, that won't be in his own hands anyway. Unless it's a day off. But how many of those do idols get?
"So does this mean I can join your PR list?" Danny quirks his brow, paired with a cheeky smile as he nudges the model, setting down the photographs. "Do you have any prototypes?" Too bad he was only a trainee, he wouldn't actually add much hype to her label.

(▰˘◡˘▰) junny solo : dormitory blues
Dorm B. He was in the dorm alone now. If he imagined it, it felt like he could play the part of a rich guy who had a large dorm all to himself. But in reality, it felt very empty, considering he used to share it with other trainees. Although there were less distractions, there was also more time to spend in his own head. He couldn't wait until the next roster of trainees joined in. But maybe it was time for him to also move on to the next part of his career? Either he would finally make it into one of the idol groups, or he could consider acting or modeling. There was always that chance. Every day Danny got older, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to wait until he was a certain number before he made that leap, or waiting until it 'felt right'. There was also holding out or returning back to reality of being a normal person who no longer held the title of trainee.
So much to think about. But he lent that energy to him training more and harder, with more focus due to the lack of interruptions from other trainees. Less trainees meant more laser-direction from the coaches and assessments. That was one positive of looking at the situation. That and keeping things tidy, and not having to clean up after other messier trainees was a perk too. Either way, he hoped that something fruitful would come to his future soon, even by his own volition and decision.
(▰˘◡˘▰) junny solo : choco heim
It may be hard to pinpoint what the 'image' behind Crown Heim might be due to not having an ambassador for some time, but the outfit he currently had on suits what was historically in line with the brand's image. A mix between refined and casual. Think... Goong, but not the princely outfits. That's how he felt anyway. Or like an idol who had a type of concept during a comeback. He wore a white linen shirt with a firmly ironed collar, and white slacks. It looked very clean, and Danny would not want to get a single crumb on himself. There was some back and forth between whether or not they ought to put a scarf on around his neck, having it slightly look nautical and clean. Ralph Lauren anyone? But it did tie into some of the older CFs decades ago where the model wore a scarf. Nostalgia was a key factor in getting the older crowd to remember a delicious treat that they may have forgotten about.
About to step on the set, he gets held back for a moment as the stylist calls out to him to fix his bangs, making sure everything sits where it ought to. There is a feeling of being so pampered when they are prepped and primed for any projects, at the hands of the stylist, hairstylist and makeup artist. It's all a group effort and he knows it's difficult when youth and fans are wistful about wishing they could look the way idols do, and in his case - trainee, or a model for Crown Heim. They do not simply wake up like this...
After permission is permitted, Danny enters the set officially. A clean background, with dynamic lighting. It is literally all focused on the elements of him, and the products. No distractions allowed! Danny hopes to not take too much takes or time, but also wanted to get a perfect take for the team and director. No pressure, right? He smiles, and bows, "I'm ready," before taking his seat at the desk with the products in front of him.
(▰˘◡˘▰) junny solo : coaching memory
Rewind back to 2023 where a coach sets him in the right course with vocal training... Danny finds it frustrating all around. He's a new trainee, but he swears he's not a natural at all of this. So they're going to be... ensuring that he stays on top of his training so he doesn't lose this opportunity, right? Can the coaches sense that he's always nervous and a bit unsure of himself? Is there that imposter syndrome that has caught him heavy with hold on the shoulders, with him hostage. This isn't a showcase, this is simply training. A one-on-one opportunity, if he can call it that because one of the coaches has set some time for him. Calming his mind down, Danny won't allow himself the chance to let anxiety take over before the actual situation is said aloud. Assumptions are death in this industry.
"So you're probably wondering why I kept you here late while all the others were dismissed from the session." His eyes dart from the floor and up towards his senior, apprehensive but with expectation, nodding. "You're not in trouble, but I can tell you're not catching on quite the way I want. And I think that some time separate from the others will be able to have us do the excercise repeatedly and no one will be impatient or judging. And I get to pinpoint it without any distractions too." The coach clears her throat. "Lets go back to the normal vocal warmups. I can hear some straining there, and that's not what they're for. I want you to be able to warm up your voice properly, so that you can keep this as a long-term tool in your career. If you're not disciplined now, it'll ony get worse and worse in the future, so lets work on this now. Okay?"
Danny nods, swallowing. He hadn't even been aware, but he wanted to be able to keep up with the others during vocal class. "Yes, thank you. So... scales or the mimimi-warmup that you usually do?" And with her direction, he starts off into the first warm up again.
“oh my god!” she exclaims. miyu’s eyes widen as danny almost topples over. “maybe they should bolt these chairs to the ground?” she jokes once danny looks like he’s settled again.
“i don’t think she wants to be an idol,” she replies after pondering his question. “she’s still young, still figuring herself out. though i suppose that conversation may be coming up soon. she’ll be graduating from high school next year.” miyu’s eyes focus downwards, settling on a spot of condensation on the table. because of her, mitsuki now has options. if her parents let one daughter follow her dreams, why shouldn’t the other? truthfully, the dancer’s not sure what her sister wants to be when she grows up. she wonders whether she just missed that conversation.
she turns back up to look at him, flashing a smile. “she’s been really into sports recently. mitsuki is a great swimmer, she’s been on the swim team for ages. i don’t think she’s going to the olympics any time soon,” miyu says with a laugh. “but maybe she’ll be able to get in to a good school with a scholarship that way. i think she’s always been more of a free spirit, less of a planner.”
”they’re crazy, yes, but i try to get as much sleep as i can during our down time. i manage the lack of sleep and long hours by keeping my free time relatively chill. i know some people have the energy to go out, but i’ve always been a homebody, even before debut.”
“i think future dreams was a wake-up call,” she tells danny earnestly. “i never thought i would actually debut as an idol and saw training as just another way to practice my dance and learn. i realized halfway through that this was serious and i needed to step up. after i was confirmed for debut especially, i realized that i needed to apply myself to more aspects than just dancing. there’s no easy way to say this,” she looks at him, seriously now. “but talent doesn’t just manifest itself overnight. i was in the same spot as you are, dancing felt comfortable, anything else and i felt like i was out of my league. kind of like i was an imposter. it wasn’t good for my confidence, though, and that’s half the job.”
“even if you’re nervous or scared, you can’t show it on stage. they’ll rip you apart for that,” miyu says with a sigh, knowing how critical netizens could be. “anyways, once i knew things were serious and people were counting on me, it’s like something switched on in my brain. i sought out more vocal training. it was hard and uncomfortable at first stepping outside of my comfort zone, but i promise it gets easier the longer you do it.” she gives him a soft smile. “i also did a lot of practice on my own time. gosh, i don’t know how i functioned that first year after debut. i don’t think i got any sleep,” she says with a laugh.
“anyways.” she reaches out, grabbing her cup and taking a hesitant sip. the tea had cooled down enough for her to drink, and miyu takes an even larger sip this time. “i said a lot of words but the simple answer to your question is just hard work, dedication, and little sleep.”
"I love that. Sports is a good thing too, with positive prospects for University options. And a healthy extracurricular if it does not turn into anything related to a career. There are some non-Olympian national teams too. I sound like a parent," his mouth downturns grumpily at the thought, physically shaking his head to get that out of his mind.
"So there are perks of introversion! I find myself to be a homebody too. That is probably why we get along," eyes smiling crescent moons at Miyu, he nods in agreement. "That among other reasons. So what kind of wind-down hobbies do you usually do back at the dorm? I guess the last thing after all that practice, you wouldn't be doing much dance in your downtime anymore. It's weird, how dance used to be the hobby and after it becomes the job..." He tilts his head and shrugs his shoulders at that. "It is what it is."
"Yes, I've managed to get most of the nerves and fear. I need to stay in a positive mindset and bubble so I am only keeping positivity and criticisms on my side. And cutting those out who are extremely negative. Not counting the management and staff, they're supposed to tell me where to improve on. It sucks though, I've had some really close friends leave recently as trainees and it makes you wonder, right?" Then again, it must be even crazier for Miyu's point of view- where some of her colleagues actually quit.
"A little sleep. How much is that defined in, ummm, minutes?"

Hey, did anyone else catch ONEART STUDIO's dance concert? Team Love and Team Ambition were awesome! I was there to catch up with my favourite idols but I thought it was amazing that trainees were able to participate. Okay, I'll cut to the chase. That was the first time I realized Danny was one of the LGC trainees. I never really followed any up and coming trainees since I was more focused on the debuted groups. That's why I was there at the concert to begin with! Anyways, I hope he debuts sometime soon, but if he doesn't, he'd totally fit in with any dance studio as one of their dancers. What do you think?
[ + / - ] Danny caught my eye during Oneart Studio's concert too! I cannot help it, my eyes were glued to him. It's hard to keep up with the trainees but it's like a nice pop-up surprise when we do see them. [ + / - ] isn't it kind of dangerous to stan a trainee? they're not even guaranteed to debut... [ + / - ] WAITAMINUTE... It was hard to keep up with every single individual on the stage, but the dance concert was so good. I'll try to spot him next time.

(▰˘◡˘▰) junny solo : evaluation
Instead of going with the failsafe of dance, Danny has been focusing on his entire skillset steadily over his time as a trainee. He knows it'd be comfortable doing a dance evaluation but wonders if the staff would find it tiresome. Dance, again? But on the other hand, there's the debatable chance where it ought to have been dance, because why highlight an area you're 'weaker' in? But he's not a scared trainee. Hard work and workshops. Dance concerts, trainee performances here and there. They all add up and he's becoming more of a balanced trainee the longer he trains at it. It reminds him of the gym, where avoiding leg days would only continuously add to further imbalances between arm and leg strength. The same could apply to any idol or trainee's skillset. So no, Danny is fully prepared with Zerobaseone's 'Always' as his vocal evaluation song. Besides, he's showed enough of his dancing off in the last few weeks with the other evaluations, so here is his time to shine.
He's done this many times before during practice. And by week nine, the engine has been oiled, warmed up and ready to vibe. Vocal rifts start the song, and then he goes into the first verse, steady, steady, chest to head voice transitions appropriately. The song may be shorter than some others that exist, but it doesn't have a lot of 'quiet' music areas, going from verse to chorus, back to verse- vocal stamina. Focus. These are practiced and memorized lyrics that have become one with him, right now, down to the wire.
It's over before he knows it. The last note, the end of the nine week ride. The song was selected because Danny felt it was suitable for his vocals and he hopes that at the end of it, the observers feel the same. It feels fullsome. "Thank you."
”i think my sister blames me,” miyu laughs, mostly joking. “i’ve had to apologize for missing her calls a lot lately. i feel bad, sometimes i’m genuinely busy, either in the practice room or on a schedule, but other times,” she sighs. “i’m just too exhausted. mitsuki is the type to chat my ear off. sometimes i just want some time to relax, alone.”
“oh, no it’s okay!” she re-assures him, waving her hand in front of her face. “i’ll just be patient and wait. besides,” miyu grins. “ice cubes will just water the drink down.”
”i actually don’t know yet,” she tells him. “they haven’t given us all the details. i’m hoping they’ll let us know soon, i have to coordinate with my family so i can give them tickets to the concert. i’m sure it won’t be a problem, though.” miyu tilts her head in thought. “it hasn’t been a problem before. there have been times where my parents weren’t able to make it, but i think mitsuki’s attended every concert of ours in japan! she’s dedicated, in a scary way.”
“i think me debuting in a girl group awakened something in her. she’s always talking to me about this group and that group. i can’t keep up! she’s into jpop too, so twice the amount of songs and members to memorize,” the idol says with a sigh, shaking her head a bit. “she’s that age, though, i guess.”
“ah! is debut on your horizon?” she leans towards him, eyes widening. it’s the first time she’s heard anything about this. “it’s been a few years, but to me it still feels like yesterday. i think the idols these days are lucky, there’s competition but it’s not broadcast for everyone to see and judge,” she chuckles a bit wryly. “i was so scared, for a lot of reasons. but mostly i was scared of failing and not debuting in nova. i’m so lucky, truly.” her eyes fixate downwards and settle on her cup instead of danny’s face.
“is there anything i can help you with? advice? choreography? singing, even?” she looks back up at him. “i know i don’t have a lot of time, but if there’s something i can do, you know,” miyu smiles. “i’m here.”
"I have coffee and matcha ice cubes back at the dorm," he all but stage whispers, "All for the purposes of not having watered down drinks so I completely understand." He leans back in his seat, and nearly topples over before moving forward again, his jaw dropping as he holds onto the table. "You can literally not take me anywhere!"
"Do you think that Mitsuki would ever want to be an idol too? Maybe even a J-Idol? Or is that something she has zero interest in--" He doesn't know as much about her family, as he does know about Miyu herself, so it could be a dumb question. But if it was anything like the relationship between him and his brother, well, apples don't fall too far apart or however the saying goes.
Relaxation was something completely underrated but or underutilized in their line of business. "You must insist to your family or sister.... Text is OK too. I am not the biggest fan of Facetime but I know some others just insist, and it gets to the point where my phone is permanently in do-not-disturb mode. You can always pretend you're filming something anyway. Idol hours can be crazy, right?"
"I... Actually, do have some questions. How did you balance everything else alongside with dance being your main thing? Did it ever feel like you were falling behind with like... vocals, or anything else? I'm trying to improve on everything else but it feels like the only thing I know how to do right now is.. dance." He stops a bit. It wasn't that bad. "Or perhaps what I mean to say is dancing is what I'm the most confident in. Like... The comfort zone."
(▰˘◡˘▰) junny solo : tu workshop
Bushy tailed. Wide eyed. All the dancing he did for the Oneart Concert assisted him with his stamina greatly. After being involved in the meetings for Team Unknown participation, Danny was all hands on deck for the workshops that would follow. These intensive, crafted workshops were such a great source of training and knowledge for the trainees, pushing them to the brink and into the next level. The next form and version of themselves, if you will.
Oh, to be molded.
After the singing, and dance lessons, as he and the others transition into their weeks of acting and performance, this is where the layers of the onion are getting piled on, to form a whole object. It's not only vocal cues and clean choreography that make an idol - those are all aspects. But to chisel everything away with the perfect timing, expressions, and nuances... It was all a performance.
The amount of time he spent repeating certain lines, or doing the same moves, while practicing different expressions... watching recordings and playbacks, god Danny was almost sick of staring at the image of himself, but he knows it's an idol's duty to get accustomed to it. He truly understood what some artists meant by 'their best side' now.
Shyness and embarrassment have to usher themselves out the door. Danny has learned the magic of it all is to be wholly committed to the act. A bit cheesy, maybe push the line sometimes, because - exaggeration. Subtlety can sometimes be lost depending on the scene. It's all a craft. Putting down the mirror, Danny nods again to himself. "Okay, should be ready to film the scene.... take 5." That's right. This is only number five. And the trainee won't kid himself, he's thankful for the storage in the phone because he's likely going to film many more attempts and analyze them all. To create is also to destroy, and Danny is here to make it work.

prior to embarking on nova’s world tour, miyu has a few stops to make. friends she needs to catch up with and housekeeping things she needs to do. her room has been tidied and bags mostly packed, leaving out the essentials she needs for day-to-day use. she’s always been one to prepare early, even if it makes her seem a bit neurotic.
she sits across from danny at the legacy cafe cupping a hot tea in between her hands. miyu took the top off to help it cool down quicker, but she doesn’t know if that’s helping enough as she tries taking a sip but just winds up burning her tongue instead.
“ouch!” she exclaims wincing. miyu pushes the offending beverage gently away from her, hoping that she’ll learn some patience in the time it takes for her tea to cool down.
“anyways,” she smiles sheepishly at danny across from her, a subtle apology for her outburst. “i’m glad we get a little time to catch up before i leave. i thought there would be more time, but,” miyu sighs. “time’s been moving so fast lately. the next thing i know it’ll be may, then june then july,” she trails off. “the tour will be over as soon as it started.”
"You're busy. Nobody blames you. Well, maybe someone out there blames you, but I don't. I'm glad you found time for me at all." Danny waits for the ice to melt in contrast to the idol waiting for her drink to cool down. They always put in too much ice. "You could have some of my ice cubes if you want. I could fish them out with a spoon. Or - I could ask them for some ice for you." If they were a bit more patient, and let things play out in the moment, he'd have more to listen to. The longer it took for the drinks to get to their peak point, they could linger and speak... Put that dog-ear on that page.
"Where's your first stop out of the country? Is it an international one?" Sometimes it was difficult to keep up with the idol groups because they were always out and about. Running into one of them felt like a wild encounter in a game at this rate, unless planned to the point - AKA today. "You haven't missed much with me. Okay I guess that's not completely true. I feel like I've been doing more projects lately. It feels like I'm getting closer. Did it feel this desperate and trying for you too? It must have been even more of an experience. Future dreams..." Danny trails off, the myth, the legend itself leaving his tongue.
"wake up?", yoojin felt himself laughing, but with no humor in his voice, because everything has been awful (not that he was going to openly complain about it, since they were supposed to endure that, and so much more that was coming their way, if they really wanted to live the idol life to the fullest), from the routine to the food, not to mention training. "I'd need to sleep in order to wake up. I don't even remember the last time I properly rested, but here I am.", he then smiled, more honestly now, not really wanting to make the air gloomy.
Yoojin took a moment to look and check Danny's outfit for practice that morning, and even if it looked bigger than his normal size, he understood what the other trainee meant - some of their moves would make it harder to be performed, and for dancers like them, well that could cause a problem in the future.
"all they care is for us to look pretty up onstage, it doesn't matter if we'll be able to give a good performance." Yoojin sighed, checking his outfit as well - he knew they gave him skinny clothes so he could do his acrobatics with no trouble, but the cropped top was slightly too much. "I mean, I'm almost naked. You look good."
An exaggeration, maybe.
"Did you know caffeine overdose was a thing?" Danny says this as if it comes from a textbook because he had been researching it at some point during their weeks training and preparing for this concert. Dudes were really losing it at one point, if not the whole point. But it's worth it...
Now that he properly looks at Yoojin, and his own outfits, and some others in their group - it truly was funny how different yet similar their outfits could be. Like fitting among a theme, yet vastly different. His seemed more baggy than anything and Yoojin's was barley there. The other's comments did make him laugh though. "At least we're not having to wear heels or anything like the girls might have to. I don't envy them for that. I they wear them. Not saying that they have to." Sometimes even heeled boots or platformed shoes that were getting more popular among the boys were starting to become a hazard whilst dancing.
There was no makeup for rehearsal but for the final stage, most definitely. "Do you think we'll have to do our own makeup or if they'll bring in a stylist for us trainees?"
