But working at this luxury cafe and bakery.

Is a fun way to earn a little splurge money.

None of the work is too hard.

And I do get to swish around in a maids uniform all day, so as far as I'm concerned its a win/ win situation.

Plus free pastries, and the summer uniforms are even cuter.

There are some bizarre laws still in place in the United Kingdom.

One of the strangest being

The Ordainment of the Draff-post (1422):This law originates from the Isle of Eilean nan Gobhainn (Isle of the Smith). Local lore suggests the decree was issued by a weary Chieftain who was tired of his blacksmiths being too hungover to forge swords during the clan wars. The Punishment: Under this act, any person found "staggering with a clouded eye" after sunset was sentenced to the Draff-post. This was a form of public humiliation, the post was placed in the centre of the market square. The offender was secured there from dawn until dusk while locals were encouraged to "discourse loudly upon the drunkard’s failings" and, more traditionally, pelt them with draff—the soggy, spent grain left over from the whisky-making process. It was considered a poetic "circular justice": being covered in the very ingredients that got them into trouble.

The Loophole: The law still exists because it was written into the island’s Feudal Charter, which was accidentally excluded from the Statute Law Repeal Acts of the 19th century.

It was brought back into use in the 1970s when there was a high degree of drunkeness on the island due to lack of work and a thriving distillery.

Although now the responsibility of sorting out the offenders fell mostly to the increasingly annoyed female population of the island who decided that a more fitting humiliation was to be feminised and bound to the pole from dawn to dusk for all to see although the throwing of any items is now frowned upon as being bad sport.

The men of the island soon learned the error of their ways , 12 hours in a frilly pink outfit tied to a pole enduring the Scottish weather is not for the faint hearted.

However tourists do come to the island hoping to see someone tied to the poles around the town unfortunately some have been caught out drinking too much of the local malt and ended up in the predicament that they came to see.

There are some repeat offenders and there is a feeling among the locals that some people actually enjoy the experience of being dressed up bound and humiliated, so much so that the island tourist board is looking into the possibility of offering the opportunity to try a Draff-post session as a tourist experience in the future.

These two objects were always talking, laughing and giggling about something.
