Structure: Europe - It's almost here
We're happy to have partnered with another great event that will hit the European Tech Scene soon. Structure:Europe is an event brought to us by GigaOm and one not to miss if you are into cloud, funding, big data.
The event takes place in London on September 18 and 19 and will see some of the best people in the area come together: Lew Cirne, Sam Hamilton, Maryline Lengert, David Warburton-Broadhurs just to name a few.
DEBATE, DIVISION, DISCUSSION
Will PRISM kill the cloud, IOT, the data gurus on big data, cloud startups, cloud M&As, funding and valuation... These are some of the topics we’ll cover at Structure:Europe. See the full schedule here.
THE INNOVATORS, THE DISRUPTORS Ten cool startups make their pitches on stage next month at Structure: Europe’s Launchpad and will be demoing in our Startup Zone. If you are a cloud or data startup less than 3 years old with less than $3 million in funding, attend for only £350. Read more.
RESEARCH AND DEEP DIVESÂ GigaOM Research will lead three workshops designed to explore the latest trends and assess the potential and viability of these sectors.
You can check the schedule here and register here.
I believe that the venture capital business as we know it will not exist in 25 years. A more sustainable funding model would be one where everybody could participate
"Venture capital as we know it will cease to exist" said Fred WilsonÂ

After much deliberation, the jury came to a decision...
THE WINNERS ARE....

Netatmo, another LeWeb success story….
Netatmo just announced it raised 4.5 Million Euros for International Growth and the founder Fred Potter tells us his fundraised was much due to his meeting with former head of Apple Europe Pascal Cagni at LeWeb Paris 2012.
Again, we love to see the success stories and look forward for more after this year’s LeWeb London - that you can follow here.Â

Reasons to join LeWeb? Here are 9!
If you are still looking for good reasons to join us in just 48h, here are 9. Why are you attend LeWeb?Â
3,2,1... LeWeb O'Clock
(Awesome Illustration by Natalka Design)
Great! LeWeb is around the corner (next June 5-6th) and you are attending. (No? You should!) Now what? It's LeWeb O'Clock.
We've decided to prepare a little guide to help you take the most out of LeWeb.
Before LeWeb
Sleep well. Seriously. During the event you'll have meetings, and dinners, and you'll probably be pretty tired. Take time ahead to be fresh and ready for the event.
Get enough business cards. Over 1000 participants are expected. You'll likely not meet 1000 people, but be ready with enough business cards for all the partners, investors, press and friends you'll meet during the two days of event.
Download and install the official LeWeb app by Mobile Roadie. It's a great way to keep track of the good content shared during the event and a time-saver for quick and useful information.Â
Take time to navigate through our networking tool, Presdo Match. Try and contact some of the people you want to meet ahead of time to make sure you schedule meetings.
A lot of good content will be shared on stage - specifically on the sharing economy, a topic you should follow. Take a look at the program and select ahead of time which sessions you'd like to attend. It will save you time and stress during the event.Â
If you still don't have hotel, take a look here as this might help.
Keep an eye on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ for updates.
Don't forget the charger for your phone, tablet or computer - you'll need it.
During LeWeb
Be early to the venue. There will be a lot of people trying to get the badges. Be sure you don't miss a thing by being there ahead of time and getting checked-in. We open the venue at 7.30 on both days.Â
Keep an eye on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ for program changes and other important information.
Connect with other people attending the event on social networks.
Don't leave your belongings unattended - we can't be responsible if they get lost or stolen.
Stop by our partners stands and check what they are doing. Most are top companies driving their sectors so it's worth a check.Â
Be sure to check the Startup Competition powered by HPÂ where many of the great companies of tomorrow will be presenting.Â
Keep your phone, computer or tablet battery up, you don't want to be off when you need it.
Have fun!Â
After LeWeb
Let us know your feedback, on social networks or otherwise.Â
Be sure to follow-up with the people you met at LeWeb.
Get ready to LeWeb Paris!
Are you ready? ;-0

The LeWeb Effect on Flipboard
Mike McCue is a long time Sillicon Valley entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Flipboard. He was also a speaker at LeWeb 2011 in Paris where he launched his iPhone app on stage (see video below).Â
Mike met LeWeb co-founder Loic Le Meur yesterday at the #D11 conference and shared the awesome graph you see above with us. The spike is his stage presence at LeWeb. Mike tells us that his LeWeb talk was the largest user growth event as of the date of that LeWeb and largest press exposure Flipboard had. And what you see in the graph are active users, not signups.Â
This is why we do LeWeb. We love that entrepreneurs can use it as a way to grow their businesses and share their ideas and we believe this story shows precisely that. Thanks Mike for sharing. Be sure to watch Mike's video below and to register for LeWeb London (taking place next week!) now.Â
With an estimated market size of $110B over the next five years, the collaborative consumption economy is already big business. Silicon Valley start-ups have dominated the landscape in recent years with large corporations only now beginning to move in.
The Rise of Sharing | The Dish Daily
If collaborative consumption is the commerce of 21st century, how do we support it with 21st-century design catered to the community rather than to individuals?
Most current designs are geared toward individual users and don’t seem to change much for multi-user experiences. Similarly, today’s collaborative consumption model is mostly about how the products are shared, not about how they are designed. How do we bring the two together? Here are a few principles to keep in mind as we navigate the new challenge of collaborative consumption as both consumers and business architects
"I envision a 21st century form of business where the everyday consumer is helping to shape the social contract. It's a business world...that is moving from value-based transactions to values-based partnerships."

when that vision includes the potential for people to make a little extra cash by renting out stuff almost everybody already has — and to do it using their smartphones — even the most stubborn pencil pushers won’t be able to resist change for long. After all, even bureaucrats have extra bedrooms.
