"I haven't had stairs inside my home since college and honestly, I really miss them." It was her favourite thing about visiting her parent's townhouse, that she could actually leave the floor she walked in on. "New York problems." Glancing back out at the ocean, Jiya nodded before she looked back to Levi. "I guess I kind of do. I have to tell my work when I can come back or if I'm even going back. They've got someone covering me but I can't leave them hanging on."
Pushing her feet into the sand, Jiya just took a moment to enjoy the feeling of it on her skin. She was too close to her family to permanently move away from them, especially to a town that so far didn't hold a lot of great memories for her, but the idea of leaving also left her feeling torn. "What made you stay? Was it just being here felt right?" It was comforting to know that someone understood where she was coming from, that someone else had been in her shoes. "Maybe I'll just know when it's time."
Nodding, Jiya dropped her phone back into her purse before she leaned back on her hands. "I'm not much of a runner but it seems like a good place for a walk." In fact, she hated most forms of cardio. "What do you do at the resort?"
âYouâre in luck then, donât think youâll have an issue finding a place with them around here.â As someone who lived in large-scale city environments all his life, Levi could attest that moving to a town was a substantial adjustment. Ended up working out a lot better than he initially thought. Especially when he didnât exactly have a solid plan in place from the get-go coming from the west coast. âIâm sure your work back in New York being flexible helps. â What do you do there?âÂ
A loaded question. His gaze wandered itself outward, locked intently on the waves continually hitting the shore. âFor me, going back..wouldn't work. â And you know, Iâm ok with that.â A defiant nod followed. His focus zeroed in on the future forming right where he was. Easier said than done. âYou probably will. Surprised me, that's for sure.â Shifting forward slightly, rugged hands re-tied the laces of his running shoes.Â
âDefinitely a scenic area for walking too.â Levi figured the recommendations would provide the brunette alternative ideas outside the resort. Until she found her choice of residence. âI run numbers for them. â Accountant.âÂ
