Lorenzo spent the first five years of his life in foster care, being moved from home to home under the care of neglectful parents.
Though he watched many of his foster siblings come and go, Lorenzo was often overlooked until the fateful day that his adoptive parents, Angelo and Nancy De Luca, walked through the door.
Although they had originally planned on adopting one of the infants, Enzo’s mother fell in love with him the second she gazed into his big blue eyes and wouldn’t take no for an answer when her husband tried to dissuade her.
Lorenzo’s father was previously married, having three children with his ex-wife before she tragically passed away.
When he re-married just a few years later, the couple hoped to have a child of their own, but Nancy was unable to get pregnant, which is how they came to decide upon adoption.
Although his new mother quickly grew to love him, his relationship with his father was far more strained. Given his age and the fact that it was a different experience than he'd had parenting his other children, Angelo often struggled to connect, feeling as though Lorenzo was a stranger living in his home.
His new siblings weren’t much better. Not only did they blame their father for moving on so quickly, but they often struggled to see Enzo as anything but a glorified roommate.
When Lorenzo was a teenager, he developed an interest in cars and motorcycles. Not only did he find himself entranced by the dazzling exteriors of certain models, but he had always had a curiosity for their inner workings. Especially when he was old enough to drive a vehicle of his own.
This growing interest prompted him to start spending more time at the auto repair shop and for the first time in his life, Enzo had something to bond over with his father.
Taking him under his wing, Angelo began to teach Enzo how to repair cars and motorcycles, and eventually he joined the shop as a mechanic, attending trade school in the process.
At the age of 33, Lorenzo was offered a job as a vehicle technician for the military and accepted it. Though before he could be deployed, his father suffered a heart attack and tragically passed away.
With the family business now unmanaged, Lorenzo decided to remain in Briar Ridge, following in Angelo's footsteps in order to keep things running as usual. This decision, however, was not to the liking of his siblings, despite the fact that most of which had since moved out of town.
A local motorcycle club (The Saints) were regular customers. They knew that Lorenzo had a bike and after a few years of friendly banter and earning his trust, they invited him to attend one of their meetings and initiated him into the group.
For the first time, it felt as though Enzo had finally discovered the true meaning of family. He felt wanted and cared for, no longer the loner he'd been for most of his life.
6 months ago, his mother started suffering from serious health concerns and began racking up many medical bills. The auto repair shop isn’t enough to pay for them, so he has started working with a rival motorcycle club, doing their dirty work and collecting info on his friends for profit.
HEADCANONS & EXTRAS:
His birth mother suffered from a drug addiction. He was removed from her care at just three months old.
He has two (non-biological) brothers and one sister. All but one of which live outside of Briar Ridge.
He hasn't been in many serious relationships because he struggles with trust and commitment after feeling abandoned/unloved for most of his life.
He hasn't been able to bring himself to adopt a pet after his childhood dog passed away. She was often his only source of unconditional love as a child and he misses her dearly. However, he does look after the shop cat named Tuna, who is a local stray. He's always sure to put food out for him and lets him hang out in the shop while he works on cars.
