My guess from this chapter is that SL is a child that has been emotionally neglected by his parents. While his parent argue,he’s playing alone and being looked after by a nanny. At the hospital his mother was somewhat distant, she’s busy talking with hospital staff rather than physically comforting her injured child. I think he developed a fixation with Mo at this particular moment because he’s emotionally compromised and happens to see that Mo is receiving the warm affection that he has been lacking from his own parents. He might have developed some long standing feelings of jelousy, bitterness, and desire to sabotage Mo?

So as I was looking through this chapter, I couldn’t help but feel like Jian Yi’s shirt was familiar to me. At the time I couldn’t pin point where I recognized the rose imprinted design from but looking back – Zhan Zheng Xi wears the same shirt (in a grey color) with the same rose design in chapters 146 - 169.

ZhanYi have matching shirts, you guys.

Also this next part is probably just purely coincidental, but I adore how the newer panel of them resembles this older one of them in elementary school. It was the day they first met – Jian Yi was a flower, with a flower even on his shirt.. and Zhan Zheng Xi was a stem of leaves (essentially completing one another). In the newer panel, Jian Yi has a flower on his shirt and a leaf which happened to be blowing in the wind landed on Zhan Zheng Xi’s shirt. This parallel is just beautiful, even if not done purposefully.

In traditional Chinese culture, people believe in afterlife/pervious life, which means there are billions of possibilities that “you” and “I” wouldn’t be knowing each other or would be with someone else.

Translate the phrase “一生一世” directly would be “this one life (in) this one whole life”. The phrase repeats and enhances “one” and “life”, which means of all the other possibilities and the lives before and after, “I” only hope for one possibility and one thing, and that is “you” in this life of mine.

Ps. about Chinese Valentine’s Day: it’s a folktale about two lovers, a mortal and an immortal, went through a lot to be together, because they broke the heaven’s rules. At the end, they could only meet each other once on 7th of July(lunar year) each year. Chinese people have been celebrating this day as “Qixi Festival” since Han Dynasty, also known as Chinese Valentine’s Day.
