The seed
The darkness is like a seed
It gets planted in your head
And it grows and grows and grows
It makes a beautifully horrible tree
That drops more seeds
Each one with roots of their own
With their own food for thought
Their own room to grow
They all start little
Itty bitty sprouts
No reason to uproot
By the time you notice them
They are too big
Too wide, too wide, too heavy
The forrest of your mind is filled
With these nasty trees
With disgusting leaves
Nothing but blackness
No fruit, no nuts
Nothing but poison for seeds
Poison that drips and spreads
Like moss covering everything
Covering everything it touches
Until it’s the only thing you see
The thing about it though
That forrest is the only one I’ve known
