Wrong! Injecting toxic chemicals into the ground poisons our drinking water and can cause earthquakes. The methane leaks speed up global warming. Mr. Trump is quoting an opinion piece in that tweet, and the woman who wrote it should be ashamed of herself. Fracking is a horrible idea all around. And Trump on wind- Seriously??
Mr. Trump, we can do much better than this nonsense. We know there are massive methane leaks. That's BAD. We also need to get away from petroleum fuels. Look at smog in Los Angeles. Smog in China, in India- it's killing people. The oil and fracking industries are poisoning our air and water. Fossil fuels are bad!

WE DON'T NEED IT. The oil companies got big 100 years ago or so. So what fuels did the world use before the 1930s? The world largely was powered by plant-based fuels. Hemp farms were essential for centuries.

Let's be clear: Hemp has ALWAYS been an essential crop around the world.
Thomas Jefferson said âHemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country.â
John Adams, U.S. President, said "We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption."

SO WHAT HAPPENED?
In 1937, oil lobbyists for Rockefeller's Standard Oil and other big companies convinced Congress to outlaw American hemp farming. How? They basically invented a new word, marijuana, and then William Randolph Hearst's newspapers created a false smear campaign. The Reefer Madness scare was the most absurd thing ever seen in newspapers. The media kept promoting the "Devil Weed" narrative on behalf of corporate lobbyists. Most Americans had no idea that hemp farming was about to be outlawed.
With hemp farming banned, paper now had to be made from trees. Who had large pieces of timber land for this? William Randolf Hearst. Now he and the Oil companies, as well as Dupont and some other big names, would make WAY more money.
UNTIL World War 2! Dupont and other chemical companies were not able to produce all the toxic, synthetic materials (nylon) that were needed for the war effort, which they had assured Congress they could handle. So...
HEMP FOR VICTORY! In 1942, Congress had no choice but to throw prohibition out the window! After years of the ridiculous smear campaign, the USDA created THIS FILM encouraging farmers to grow hemp:

And then after the war, we went straight back to outlawing hemp. Thanks, Congress. Collude with big oil much? You should lift the ban, or we'll vote you out.

Oh, so alcohol prohibition was really about hemp fuel??

HEMP PROHIBITION IS UNJUST. The manner in which it was passed is unconstitutional!
Congress at the time quickly pushed the legislation through, even though many industry groups objected. Even the American Medical Association was opposed to making the plant illegal. They recognized the plant has many benefits to humankind.

LET'S END THE NEED FOR ANY FOREIGN OIL
We have lots of farmland. Desert oil dictatorships do not.. We could reduce our dependence on foreign oil. We could end wars over oil. Eventually the value of the oil overseas will go down. We can boost our own economy while solving the climate crisis.
Mr. Trump, This is all we're asking:
Please Lift the Ban on Industrial Hemp Farming. That's it. Let farmers grow. You will instantly provide millions of green jobs nationwide. Local economies will thrive. Businesses will flourish. The environment will IMPROVE.
Growing the crop on a large scale, the plants would actually breathe in a lot of the CO2 in the atmosphere. It will REVERSE some of the pollution we have created. This is exactly what the climate scientists are saying we NEED to do.
From the seeds of the hemp plant we can extract eco-friendly oil. From this oil we can gradually start producing a wide range of eco-friendly products including fuels, paints, varnishes, lubricants, and even plastic. Yes, we can make bio-degradable plastic without petroleum. No more plastic in the oceans and landfills. Hemp oil is even healthy to consume!
From the stalks of the plant we can produce the raw material to make paper and lumber products (slow down or stop deforestation), fabrics, ropes, etc. It's even possible to convert the material into a charcoal that could be used instead of coal. THINK ABOUT THAT. Our farmers could grow the material that our power plants burn to produce electricity. We can stop destroying states like West Virginia, Kentucky, and Wyoming. Instead of coal mining, we should be hemp farming.
There simply was no valid reason to outlaw such an important crop. You sir, can be the one who saves the environment and transitions us away from fossil fuels. Side note: We realize you have some stocks in oil companies. Please be the hero who saves the planet EVEN THOUGH you have financial interest in dirty energy. We believe you are that hero, Mr. Trump!

There's no valid reason to outlaw such a versatile and eco-friendly material. This Lotus sports car is made with hemp composite body panels. We should all be driving cars like this, powered by hemp fuel.
Why NOT Grow Hemp Nationwide??
In the above PBS Video from Kentucky, a police officer explains that their main concern is the possibility of someone growing a few high-grade marijuana plants in the middle of a hemp farm. Ok, that's just idiotic. Anyone who understands basic botany will know that high-grade marijuana is the flowers of the FEMALE cannabis plant. NO pot grower would want his plants anywhere near some low-grade industrial hemp. Their crop would end up full of seeds and basically be worthless!
So Let's Do This! Let's lift the federal ban & let states issue permits to farmers to grow.
SUMMARY: To solve the climate crisis
1. End the Prohibition of Industrial Hemp 2. Outlaw Genetically Engineered Hemp (and patents on all GE organisms) 3. Let Farmers Grow hemp nationwide, reducing CO2 in the atmosphere 4. Use the raw material to produce clean-burning hemp fuel, Building products, paper, & charcoal 5. Convert all diesel engines to run on hemp fuel 6. Reduce the use of fossil fuels 7. Phase out petroleum gasoline vehicles in favor of hemp fuel vehicles 8. Phase out fracking and the burning of coal at power plants. Burn hemp charcoal instead- much cleaner 9. Keep growing more hemp! It's the best way to REMOVE CO2 from the atmosphere 10. Divest from fossil fuels. This green cycle is the best plan to solve the climate crisis

In 1916, the USDA published Bulletin No. 404, a report on using hemp hurds as a paper-making material. The bulletin proclaims that:
âWithout a doubt, hemp will continue to be one of the staple agricultural crops of the United States.â
The report also warns that: âOur forests are being cut three times faster than they grow.â It finds that (over a 20-year period) 10,000 acres of hemp can produce the same amount of paper as 40,500 acres of trees. The test results are so favorable that USDA Bulletin #404 is printed on paper made from hemp!

Henry Ford's vision was to "grow cars from the soil." He was a visionary who knew that a green cycle with hemp fuel was the best way.
Ford was the ONLY American Car company not bailed out after the 2008 financial crisis.
What's wrong with electric cars? For starters, the mining involved to get the rare-earth minerals to make the batteries is very destructive to the environment. Not only that, when you look at transportation of all the goods to assemble an electric car, you realize there is A LOT of pollution involved.
