Workers rights you mean that thing Rom invented
What are your thoughts on black woken in luxury? This new trend black women are doing ? I saw your post on how the standards of women is low and only getting worse, especially black women. Yet I see so many black women actually dating up, traveling, getting into careers to take their lives up.
I think this question is asking several different things. What do I think about individual Black women traveling, getting money, and generally enjoying life? I think that's awesome.
What do I think about the "Black women in luxury" movement? That it's kinda useless if not outright classist.
To be clear, I'm defining luxury as "something desirable but expensive and hard to get" and "something that adds pleasure but isn't necessary" (via Merriam-Webster). I've seen some folks try to define luxury as being loved or well rested or eating well and those things shouldn't be considered luxuries at all. These are things we should all have access to as human beings--although capitalism has unfortunately made many of these things inaccessible to many Black women. I'm more talking about expensive cars, clothes/ bags, vacations, access to hired help, etc.
And it's not that I think those things are "bad" but rather that a small minority of Black women having access to these things won't do anything for Black women as a whole.
And moreover, most Black women don't even have access to many basic things never mind luxury things. Despite what we see on social media we must remember that Black women as a whole are one of the poorest demographics in the US. We need better worker rights, better and safer housing, better healthcare, a more robust social safety net, to get rid of food deserts, etc. Not Chanel bags. So this "movement" is based on an aesthetic that is largely out of reach.
And if we are going to focus on things Black women should have aside from survival stuff I'd say it'd be better to focus on mental and physical wellness, peace/ leisure, love & community. Stuff that actually makes our lives better. Not luxury items.

Nothing I’ve read has changed me more than “you do people a favor by accepting their help” like I repeat this constantly to so many people because it’s true!!! People like to feel useful, they like to feel kind, they like to feel like they have an ability to impact people’s lives so just let them!! Not everything is a thing to be owed back — accept people’s kindness without making a competition out of it

This NPR interview with with Angela Saini about how race science never really left the global scientific consciousness is super interesting! I’m gonna read her book!
my girlfriend has been talking about this since ancestry kits became A Thing
lube gets talked about as if it’s just some thing that will make sexual acts more pleasurable (which is valid and true) but i didn’t learn until like, last week that it’s also just as important as condoms from a public health perspective.
you reduce your chances of getting/giving STDs by a lot when you use lube (even without a condom/dental dam/finger cot/etc) because it lessens the chances of developing microtears (little cuts on your genitals/mouth) during sex acts that open up ports of entry for the exchange of diseases.
wow i didnt fucking know
It really does. Here's a source from The STI Project.
Lube up!

I love the idea of Spock being super queer, highly expressive and very emotional from a Vulcan view point. Like...
What humans see:
What Vulcans see:
Vulcans seeing Kirk as a version of Gritty seems incredibly accurate, too.

please for the love of god do not buy (k)n95 masks on amazon... a good majority of the time they're fake and overpriced. if you want legit good quality masks i would personally recommend bonafide masks. they're reputable and reasonably priced, you can get a pack of 50 for a dollar a piece.
and remember each mask can be reused (up to five times) so long as you decontaminate them (clearer instructions here) five days before reuse.
tldr instructions:
hang in oven at 70°C/158°F for 60 minutes, or steam at 125°C/257°F for 5 minutes, or boil for 5 minutes.
air drying is recommended as is storing each individual mask in a brown paper bag.
do not microwave and do not use soap/alcohol!
stay safe!!!
