I grew up with star trek as a constant, my 6th birthday was star trek themed. My dad made me a red dress uniform out of a t-shirt and puffy paint, my mom put a bump it in my hair to achieve that glorious 60's hair.
I couldn't do the Vulcan salute so my parents zip tied my fingers for a photo. I still have the plastic enterprise with the light up nacelles that was on the cake.
There's something special about watching all the new star trek media, knowing a whole new batch of people and kids will grow up with that same love.
I just remembered this one time in English class.
We were reading lord of the flies and discussing older media so my teacher started talking about Star trek. Not many people watched star trek so she showed us part of an episode.
That episode was amok time.
My English teacher showed us Pon Farr.

Watching tng makes spirk so much funnier bcoz picard and riker have an actual platonic relationship between captain and 1st commander and can u imagine them doing the things spock and kirk do?
