STORY
lenora was the second daughter born to lady lanna lefford née lannister and ruling lord harrold lefford. while she has affection for her siblings and considers herself close with them, she had a tendency to wander off into the gardens, and spend the days by herself. it earned her a reputation for being aloof, and jokes were made in the westerlands that she might end up a garden hermit. she spent her life satisfied that most of the attention went to her siblings, and that she made no notable reputation for herself beyond the garden hermit jokes, good or bad. during her teenage years, she surprisingly befriended two lords from the vale, and she ended up in a secret romantic relationship with ser percival templeton for a year, and she became best friends with lord norbert grafton.
she was eventually married to lord gerion tarbeck for less than a year until he was executed by the lannisters. she married him as she had been asked to report on his doings by her mother, who knew lenora did not seek a powerful match, and so that was the compromise. she took measures all throughout her marriage to avoid conceiving a child. as soon as she was told of house tarbeck's role in her mother's death, she fully turned on them and was pleased to see the house go extinct. after her husband's death, lenora was once again a lefford as the death was effectively treated as a divorce, meaning she was no longer lady tarbeck.
after returning to golden tooth, she fully threw herself into her passion for architecture, landscaping, and the arts. shortly after her return to golden tooth and after finishing redesigning the gardens, lenora started to feel unfulfilled by simply painting and drawing in the gardens and then adding her paintings to her ever-growing collection in a dusty room. she found that she wished to display and sell her art, to leave a legacy as an artist. knowing that it would likely be looked down upon for a woman of the west, and also because of her fear of failing, she decided to hide behind a male pseudonym, loren goldbriar. the name contains an anagram of lenora, and the surname was inspired by her love of the wild roses in the gardens of golden tooth. every painting sold or displayed is done so under this name.
in the past year, she has sold quite a lot of paintings and loren goldbriar has grown in renown, and it is slowly becoming more widely known that the mysterious artist seems to not exist anywhere in the kingdoms. her art can only be bought from a specific art seller, alastor hill. he regularly travels between the kingdoms, and all contact goes through him.
PERSONALITY
lenora is a calm and rational creature, it generally takes a lot to rile her up. sometimes her calmness is downright unnerving for others, a fact in which she does take some pleasure. however, her calmness can evolve into detachment and apathy. due to her calm demeanour, she is frequently confided in and trusted, which is a responsibility that she takes seriously. outside of her passion for art, she is more ruled by her head than her heart. she is more ice than fire.
when it comes to her morals, she sees the world in shades of grey. she is a true neutral when it comes to alignment. while it is often understated, lenora can actually be quite selfish and entitled. if she does get angry, she gets cold, and she will cut off all contact if she's able. she is not the type to yell, but instead give people the cold shoulder.
despite her calm demeanour, she finds it hard to truly relax, and will always be working on a project of some kind. her hands are always moving, and she has a bit habit of fiddling with whatever she can get her hands on. to combat this at important events, she typically wears long silk gloves. the gloves also hides the various paint or coal stains that never seem to go away completely before she has acquired new ones.
