Wow, it's been a year since I moved back to San Diego! Oceanside has been delightful, but slightly isolating: I left all my new friends in OC behind the traffic barrier, and reaching my old friends in downtown is not that much easier. Greetings to all of you!

I have extended my portable easel to take the work on larger paintings off the floor.

Fish Eye (stylus on screen). This is an example of a black and white drawing on Samsung Note 4, with an additional explanation why I don't use it for sketching as planned or hoped: my drawing speed is highly variable, from full stops to very fast movements, and the technology of this instrument, and likely similar others (e. g. Wacom's best options, according to demonstrations by other artists) does not follow me. The lines or marks appear sometimes after seconds (!) on the screen. And this is a powerful phone. Even my wacom tablet with a 4K video editing optimized laptop I use more for photography: the painting just feels like an additional new medium. The programs are not able to adequately mimic physical liquids, pigments, and surfaces. If I draw together with others though, I seem to rush tremendously in comparison, though. So you might love to draw on screen. I've see beautiful works created completely digitally, apart from illustration.
