In the scene at Charlie's place, when babe goes to him and babe, he tries to have his way with Charlie but sees that it's not going to work. And I think he knows that Charlie is serious and that there is no compromise here. When he says "lets go with that, then" after hearing Charlie say what he wants, it's like him taking that answer finally for what it is. Cause he knows it's not gonna change no matter how many times he asks. And even though he most likely doesn't support how he's going about it. He just wants to be there, he doesn't want Charlie to shut him out. When babe confronted him with the truth that he found out. He wasn't even necessarily angry but just more so upset and or exasperated that again Charlie made a decision again for them. And Babe knows Charlie's scared and he's scared himself but he really just wants Charlie to know that he loves him even if they can't be together the way he wants them to be. It's like he doesn't want Charlie to think that he'll love him any less than because he doesn't! Even leaving the ring behind that he's been wearing for both of them cuz if he's not there, at least the ring will be.
