Behold, the serpent! He is smol and angy because he got stuck in a teacup.

The internal clock suggests that Hermes' personal hell has lasted for five months now. It feels like so much longer. Time has a way of distorting when you are locked in your own head with only the vaguest sense of your own body in the dirt, fighting desperately to heal with your power stripped away, the roots of poisonous flowers tangling around your hands and seeking sustenance from the ichor seeping from your wounds.

Chloe saved his sanity. The "family special" programming in her phone pinged his mind and woke him from his torpor as soon as she crossed the rift. He isn't free, but he can communicate, he can plead his case, and he can get help.

He can also, as it turns out, entice one of the new technology gods into the digital space for a get-to-know-you. This is going so much better than he could have hoped.

Five months and counting. Stir up enough chaos, and it won't pass six.
