Since this is the first blog post, here's a little more about the OVERCHARGE story to catch any interested parties up.

About Cache + some older art of him (design to change)

If I had to choose one word to describe Cache, it would be compassionate. Cache cares deeply about everyone around him: to not understand that is to misunderstand his entire character.

If I could use more words to describe him, I'd say this: He is a well known hero, comes across as very stoic, and is oftentimes alone.

Cache's nervous system, in short, produces too much electricity. This allows him to use electrical powers, but in turn destroys his body from the inside out. This led to a double amputation of his legs at a young age.

Supporting Characters (At a glance)

Below, from left to right, are Robert Weiss, Eloise Fletcher, and Julia (better known as Jules,) Segura.

I prefer to leave a little mystery to these three, but I will share the following about them:

Robert Weiss is a substantial figure within the healthcare field, a biomedical engineer and doctor who was a key figure in the development of neutralizers, a life-saving technology for people like Cache.

Eloise Fletcher is the head of the city's hero association (a name to change in the future, when I actually have a cool idea), but plays a larger role in running the company on a global level. Cache reports directly to her.

Jules Segura is, to try and put a title on a very unique role, is something akin to an assistant, and is assigned to work solely with Cache to manage his public image, any appointments, and generally manage him on a much more personal level. Jules is one of my favorite characters, but I fear she will be deeply misunderstood.

Antagonists

OVERCHARGE primarily has one villain, but I won't talk at length about them.

Though colloquially referred to as Unknown, I prefer to referring to this particular guy by his technical name, Pedicel-- a name given to him after the hero association failed to identify him. (A few of my friends, me included, refer to him lovingly as Pedi.)

He has vine-based powers. I tend to swap between calling them root and vine powers, but I don't think the terminology really makes a difference in the grand scheme of the story.

For now, I believe that's all I can say about them.

Farewell, first blog post...

As a small treat (and to kick off my secret blog), here are some of the first sketches I made of Cache and Pedicel. In the early stages of writing, OVERCHARGE was a much more focused on an anti-war theme (something that, while still seeping into the current story, is no longer main focus). These are no longer art pieces that are applicable to who these characters are anymore, but they hold a very special place in my heart, and I believe are worth sharing.

I still actually really like a lot of elements from Cache's early outfit designs... maybe I'll pull from those. There was actually a lot of art from the early days that fully solidified who both of these characters are... to the point where sharing them is a spoiler.
