Zelda Lee Harris

“Oh, for sure,” Ella nodded, “They don’t have the best track record for being quick but I’m sure this time will be the exception,” her tone sounded rather false but she couldn’t be bother to actually care about the panicking person. With one leg crossed over the other her foot tapped the air, a small sign of the energy she felt like she needed to burn off.

Zelda sighed at the woman’s tone, and put a comforting hand on woman’s shoulder. “Taking deep breaths will help.” The woman seemed to calm down slightly at that and Zelda walked towards the other woman and sat down. “It looks like you need to take some deep breaths too.” She nodded towards her foot. Frowning, Zelda took a long look at the woman. “Have we met?”

Ebony, overhearing the conversation, decided to help out “She’s right. It just takes time for them to get down here from their main area.” She pulls a water bottle out of her purse and hands it to the person “Take small sips and bide your time.” 

Zelda sighed, and turned to really get a good look at the woman. She was surprised to see the hunter traveling this late on the train. “Well I’m glad you’re here... Ebony, right? I’m Zelda, Odell’s girlfriend.”

Dan shook his head and lowered his sunglasses to show the girl he would be no help to her. Either she would be freaked out and think he was a color contacts wearing weirdo or she would be supernatural and know that his control would start slipping soon too. Especially if the sun started coming up before they were out. “Just leave the man alone. Let him freak out and mind your own business.”

Zelda rolled her eyes at the vampire. Of course, the one supernatural who wouldn’t care if someone lost it and started attacking. “Seriously? That’s what you’ve got?” She could hear her mother’s voice in her ear about the dangers of pissing a vampire off. She walked a little closer so he’d hear her and no one else. “If he freaks out and injures himself or others, are you going to be able to keep it together in a confined space? If not, help me talk him down.”

   She was a little on edge when the train came to a halt, but she was doing well at keeping it under control. The man the young woman was talking to, however, was not. Piper looked at her when she spoke to her and nodded, “Right. They’ll have someone to fix it in no time.”

Zelda walked towards the person standing with her hands facing out. “Hey listen, I know it’s late, but they’re going to get us out of here soon. The train runs all night so the repairmen must too.” She channeled her dad, and tried to think of what he’d say. She turned to look around the train and caught someone’s eye. “Right?”

“Its from last night.“ Odell groaned, holding his head. “It wasn’t exactly what I had in mind at the beginning of the night.“

“Zack and Ellis was busy late last night and I had to console a clan member. By the end of the night, tequila was the last resort.“

Zelda walked further into the room and picked up the bottle. “How much of this did you console them with?” She teased dumping the empty bottle into the garbage. “And who was it?”

“Zelda! Sweetie, I’m fine. I will deal with them as soon as I’m out again. You just said it yourself. It was a stupid HOA fight. Heads aren’t going to roll because of it.“

“Ellis is a big boy and knows exactly what he’s doing as the head of this clan.“ Zack sent her a disapproving look that he usually sends anyone who questions his friend and leader.

“They broke your ribs over the color of a mailbox.” Zelda huffed and crossed her leg over the other. 

“To let me rest in peace and keep our daughters from worrying about me.“

Zelda sat down and leaned back against the chair. “So we’re just supposed to let you get jumped over a stupid HOA fight and have no reaction? Seriously?”

“You’re mother and I agreed that it was for the best.“ Zack rolled his eyes but resisted the urge to cross his hand over his chest.

Zelda stared at her dad. “To let you sit alone in a hospital? To come out of surgery alone? How on earth could that have been the best choice?”

“Thank you,“ Chris smiled gratefully. 

“The paint won’t bond to whatever this is,“ he replied gesturing to the spray painted walls. “Maintenance recommend that we cleaned the walls with at least mild detergent and water before painting over it.“

Zelda nodded and grabbed a brush to start cleaning the walls. “How often does this happen? And did you guys see who it was?”

“Perfect… That means everyone is snowed out too.“

Zelda tilted her head at him. “Why is that?” She moved towards the couch and plopped down next to him, leaning against his chest. 

“It was clear a second ago…“ Zack frowned.

Zelda peeked out at the shades again. “I don’t know. Look at how it’s coming down.”
