ᴍᴇʟᴀɴᴄʜᴏʟʏ ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴏsɪᴛɪᴏɴ

“Oh, okay, cool.” Yeah, no, there was absolutely NOTHING not weird about any of this. “So like, what’re you doing?” Whatever was on the monitor certainly LOOKED dramatic and sciency. He could KIND OF tell what it was. But he was still curious.

“if you must know i’m researching, well, you. these are your charts from your physical yesterday, paired with a cheek swab. i’m trying to find what part of your molecular dna allowed you to activate the super robot. there must’ve been some foreign chemical sample you carried with you from...from somewhere that gave you the ability to awaken us.”

being awake again felt odd. it was as if he had been asleep lifetimes; but also as if no time had passed at all. everything about his perception of the world was off kilter. antauri said that this boy had awoken them through the power primate but he wasn’t sold on the idea. he was just a shuggazoomian child.

except for gibson. i mean, he goes with it but he’s not too happy about it. he gives chiro his check ups and makes food for him but he generally thinks babies are gross and drooly and stuff

until the rest of the team have to go do something and he’s left alone with chiro. at first he thinks he’s just gonna put him in the crib and that’ll be that. 

cut to two hours later the rest of the team come back to find gibson bouncing him in his arms and baby talking him with a funny voice and making weird faces @ a giggling chiro 

after that gibson has shifted into overprotective parent mode, loves chiro to death and can be overbearing with him at times

“of course he’s not eating sprx, you’re doing the plane, he prefers the choo choo!” 

“no no no, it’s no wonder he’s not sleeping! you only read him one bed time story, he likes three and you have to rock him back and forth, not side to side. here, just let me do it.” 

and the team start to get kinda annoyed by it but then one night chiro is crying and before anyone else can wake up enough to go check on him the crying stops and when they finally drag themselves to his room they see gibson putting him back down in his crib and running his hand through the little wisps of baby hair he has and humming the last bits of a song

or see him in his lab, where he’s made a pair of baby goggles and sewn a tiny lil lab coat for chiro and has him balanced on his hip while he’s working on one of his non-dangerous experiments while explaining it to chiro with the occasional funny face and raspberry to his cheek to make chiro laugh
