it  was  strange   /   as  if  he  was  frozen  into  some  kind  of  melancholic  state  no  one      &      nothing  could  bring  him  back  from.   they  called  him  cruel   /   for  he  had  no  regard  for  other  people      &     when  you  looked  into  his  eyes,  there  was  a  the  kind  of  ethereal  glory  shining  through  his  soul   /   the  kind  you  couldn’t  deny   /   the  kind  you  just  had  to  have  for  yourself.   he  liked  classical  music      &      spending  long  hours  in  art  galleries   /   he  liked  hearing  about  what  you  think  but  didn’t  care  for  explaining  how  he  felt.   you  wanted  to  take  a  peek  under  the  perfectly  constructed  layer  of  self-confidence  he’s  built  around  himself   /   you  would  have  given  everything  for  just  one  look.   he  knew  that      &      so  he  took  everything      &      then  left  without  keeping  his  promise.
