Mike used CPM 154 steel for the blade. Mirror polish. Full tang. He added a swedge grind top edge.

Damascus clip & drop point style blades. Both blades have Chuck's file work. Chuck makes his own damascus. Both have a nail nick for easy opening. Damascus bolsters. Chuck's file work on the spine.

ANZA ITHACA DEERSLAYER II FIXED BLADE FILE KNIFE COLLABRATION

Model Anza/Ithaca gun Deerslayer  collabration fixed blade file knife made by Anza knives in 2002. New old stock. Unused. Has been in my collection. Anza made a few knives for the Ithaca gun company and I obtained one before they shipped to Ithaca.

The knife is made from a bastard files.

Both of these custom Don Weiler knives are built to be incredibly strong and durable. They feature thick, heavy blades that can handle tough tasks. The first knife measures 17 and 1/4 inches length. It has an 11 and 1/4-inch blade. The second knife is a bit larger with a total length of 17 and 1/2 inches and an 11 and 1/2-inch blade. Both knives have a very solid blade thickness of 1/4 inch.

Don Weiler designed these knives with a drop point style blade shape. The top edge of each blade is not sharp, but it could easily be sharpened if needed. As the exact type of metal is not confirmed, Weiler usually made his knives out of high-quality carbon steel. The main difference between the two knives is the blade finish.
