i’m obsessed with ku dowon as a character. he’s the chief resident, and only 4th year resident, in the ob-gyn department, as a millennial man in south korea. he has a boring, predictable routine that he does not stray from, because the mundanity and comfort of it excites him. routine makes him feel safe. he lives with his older brother but nothing about him screams younger brother, until his older brother will pull him back inside and remind him to stay around some longer. he doesn’t discipline the first year residents, and instead bears all the complaints their professors hurl at him, because he cares and because he doesn’t want them to hurt. he has the entire 4th year residents lounge for himself. he tucks his sweaters into his slacks. people remember him for his kindness and how well he does his job. he is a yes-man despite knowing fully well that it will drive him into the ground. yiyeong is brazen and sharp and cold, and dowon is soft and dependable and warm, and her attention scares and thrills him at the same time.
