it's worth noting that while they're the most obvious of the problems here, those eyes are not the only issue the teaser showed. The props, sets, and character acting have been shown to be very impressive and quite promising, but the theme as a whole is somewhat off, with the animatronics moving fluidly and emoting with both body language and expression. That is the main issue with them, that they act like some stereotypical film's killer robots rather than the possessed, possibly teleporting vessels that they are in those first few games with their truly unsettling atmosphere. The unmoving dead expressions, the still, unmoving poses and the fact that they don't even use their eyes to look at you much of the time is a set of factor that the trailer has shown a complete lack of understanding of. As simple as it would likely be to replace the eyes, this bigger issue is far less manageable in aftereffects and editing. That's not to say the animatronics never move like that - at times they did, even in those first five games. But they did that sparingly, such that it made a far larger impact with the sudden juxtaposition to their previous actions.
