two years, actually. never actually stopped liking f1, but life got in the way. the long and short of it is, i was in a toxic relationship that pretty much fucked my life up more than i would ever admit. i’ve always prided myself in being the sort of guy who kept his head above water, but i got caught in the undertow and that was that. didn’t plan that whole water and wave metaphor, by the way, it just sort of happened. but yeah. it’s christmas and i’m thinking of how much the sport i know and love is going to change next year. i’m thinking of how much i’ve changed. i’m thinking of all the friends i’ve ever made, the ones i still talk to, the ones couldn’t keep in touch with. i’m thinking about how i’ve lived in the same city my whole life, about how i always thought i would get out the first chance i got, about how i’m still stuck here and how i’m not entirely sure i even want to leave. i don’t even know why i’m writing this out, because i’m too busy to even be as active as i once was, but nostalgia is a hell of a drug and damn it i miss the person i was when i was still running this blog. so i guess this is me, checking in. i’m alive, i could be better, but at least i’m here. to whoever’s reading this, i hope you’re doing just fine.
