im done freaking out and now im thinking about how terribly people actually treat not just mental illness, but all of the ‘bad feelings’ overall. every time anybody vents on social media its treated either as a currency or a freak show. people are taught worldwide that you should not share anything unless its something positive. ‘everybody already knows that life is depressing’ but they actually don’t. this generation is growing up without that knowledge. and yeah, they’ll live to find out, except they were never taught how to deal with these things unlike us. people think that kids living in these sanitised environments will fuck around and find out anyway, but they won’t. im almost an adult and today is pretty much my first time facing the consequences of never being taught that bad things exist and how to face them. its terrible and its painful. and it hurts me to see that this is becoming something so so common
