This is Sierra, curled up underneath my bedroom altar. ⠀ ⠀ She is loud, forceful, loving, wild and such a great teacher in being joy. ⠀ ⠀ She is such a character, always does things that really make me laugh, like meowing up a storm before jumping on the bed for cuddles. ⠀ ⠀ She is fierce with the laser pointer, and she loves to chase it so much that she howls for it at times. ⠀ ⠀ And she always finds new places to curl up and rest. But when she curls up under the altar, she always looks at me intensely, as if to say, “don’t forget your spirituality, woman!”⠀ ⠀ I love her. Every time I do, even when I edit things, I really can’t stop smiling.

Up until recently, most of my artjournals lay abandoned for more than a year (perhaps even two).⠀ ⠀ This year, I’ve decided to Leap to Joy, and as a part of it, I challenged myself to finish some of the artjournals that gathered dust, and oh my goodness ... ⠀ ⠀ I feel I’ve come alive. ⠀ ⠀ So when I worked on a page today, I was filled with gratitude. ⠀ ⠀ Minutes later, I wrote how grateful I am that my art came back on a page that felt unfinished. ⠀ ⠀ And then I turned the page and continued splattering watercolours. ⠀ ⠀ #Thisisjoy https://www.instagram.com/p/B_X3SZBgDy_/?igshid=132wc9v0tyj7r
