Ngl I think it's strange that a lot of people IRL are so kneejerkingly terrified of being weird or even associated with being weird. I say this as someone with relatively normal fashion/speech patterns, not even as a member of a particularly crazy subculture.
The other night at dinner in the dining hall with friends, I mentioned I used to tap dance, but haven't for years. One of the girls asked if I remembered anything, and since I was in boots that made (muffled) sound, I was like "Oh yeah, it was kind of like this," and I stood up and did a really short move I remembered. I have to emphasize that I literally stood up, did this under the table, and sat back down--anyone watching from another table would assume that I, idk, thought about getting another serving of food and changed my mind.
And the girl at the table immediately starts giggling and saying "Oh my god, stop, stooop, I wouldn't have asked you to if I knew you'd stand up, oh my god, sorry, I just have strong second-hand embarrassment." Which is like... paralyzingly socially anxious. No one at the tables around us even noticed, and to the credit of my other friends, they told that one girl that she was being dramatic. This one girl was just biting her nails about someone breaking generally accepted social codes for even, I am not exaggerating, four seconds. This is getting rambly, but I guess the point of this is just "people should lighten the hell up, please."

awake as shit just looking at images trying to understand anything
start taking more photos of anything and everything. something on the street that caught your eye, your bedroom vanity, hands on the subway, sunsets, an object that stood out, a house you find beautiful, a picture of the road from inside of the car... really any photo from your point of view in a moment you want to remember. i was going through my camera roll today and saw so many nonchalant photos of very random things, but i remember exactly who i was with and how i felt in the moment the photo was taken. it was special. and truly candid. my intention was not to make the photo look pretty but to really capture the world that was surrounding me in that exact second. when i look back on those photos, i'm brought back into the memory, because i see what i saw when the memory was made.
