The other should consider himself lucky that Matthew was someone who really enjoyed coffee cause otherwise he probably would have spit his bite out. But all he got was a gentle hum followed by a slight scrunch of the nose as he swallows the bite.

  “ Ah,I may be a coffee lover but there was a bit too much of it in this……I honestly didn’t taste anything else ”

 “Good.”

There is a hint of something in his voice. Perhaps bitterness, for a brief second. But then its gone. 

The miqo’te listens to the other,eyes blinking softly for a moment before he glance back down at the cupcake in his hand. Well…..there wasn’t any harm in testing it if the other was wanting to do a side business

” Ah I guess so…. ” With a gentle shrug,the male takes a soft bite out of the cupcake.

The cupcake , is filled with coffee extract. Perhaps overwhelmingly coffee. There is nothing but coffee, the cream could barely be tasted. 

The males eyes wander down to the basket of muffins in the others hands,an eyebrow raising lightly for a moment before he looks back up at Hermenost​ as he spoke.

A light flick of his tail as his eyes squint for a moment,his free hand gently reaching over to pick up a cupcake.

  “ Should I question why you require a taster rather than yourself? ”

 “This is a sample product, I would plan on doing a bit of side business. After all there is nothing more then extra time, outside of training that is.”

The Miqo’te’s ears perk up at the sound of the others voice,head lightly turning round to face the other,gently closing the book that he was reading as he offered the other a gentle smile.

  “ Ah greetings! I have been well,how about you? ”

in his hands, is a basket of muffins. though there is something halonic about them. Or perhaps its just the whiteness of it all, the sheer amount of cream on top. 

 “I need a taste tester for my new muffins.”

 “Oh, we meet once again.”

The library is a big place, one thats easy to get lost in if you go through the normal path. 

 “How are you, have you been well?”

If he did,it seems his words didn’t make a impact on this city….or a big enough one for Matthew to notice as he hasn’t really heard anyone saying anything bad about dragons or the like. The male lets out a slight,awkward chuckle for a moment as he scratches his chin as the other speaks.

  “ Ah….not exactly…..More of a paladin than a Astrologer and just very interested in space ” he says as he pulls out the small wooden sword he was given when arriving to this place. His brows furrow in thought at the others offer, his tail lightly swaying as he thinks the offer over for a moment.

  “ Hmmm……Maybe it would be a good idea to learn….One cannot live on coffee and ready made meals ”

 “...I fail to see how holding a sword could relate to being knowledgeable about the stars.” To be fair, a certain someone failed to make astrology sheek within the confines of ishgard so no one rarely bothers with its more offensive uses. 

He shakes his head. 

Though rarely does he interact with children [anymore] Hermenost does have a soft , if rather scarred feeling towards them. After all, he thinks that those who were kidnapped were real children, unlike the illusions that inhabit this city. 

 “Young man, would you care to help me with some gardening? I have been gone for quiet a long time and this church needs some...weeding.”

The Miqo’te just gave a small shrug for a moment. He honestly didn’t know how to spend this sudden free time he has in this area…..He didn’t have to worry about suddenly being dragged to help with a Primal or the end of the Star now…..Perhaps trying to find a job in this place isn’t too farfetched for him.

A light flick of his left ear as his brows furrowed at the others mention of having a church here in the past. Oh he hopes to the twelve the other didn’t preach anything bad about dragons…..

“ Well I would avoid anything to do with cooking…..I uh…..Cannot cook…..I do have a interest in the stars tho ” he says with a gentle hum,rubbing his chin in thought

In truth he had been preaching about how horrible dragons were and the benefits of King Thordan and the Fury Worship. Alas once he had entered this city, it all went to waste. And knowing the truth of how this city was made, it felt like a waste to do it over again. There was no benefits on preaching to people whose minds can be changed at a whim of the city creators. 

“Ah, a student of astrology I see. The knowledge of our original world is rather useless here, but the stars can be quiet beautiful in the night sky as well.”

Ah well that was something he had witnessed but not had actual conformation on…..that you could be returned to your world but pulled back at any moment again……A gentle sigh escapes him as he folds his arms across his chest.

 “ I’m Matthew,been a resident of this city for about…..6 moons now? I’ve honestly lost track at this point….. ” He says with a simple shrug.

 “You should remember a little. Its good to keep track, maddening, but it makes you mind your body more.”

And not head down a deep hole that no one but yourself can dig out of. Hermenost has been through everything since he started this whole adventure, this city and the last. So much to say and do.

The miqo’te felt humble hearing that another from his world had arrived to Isola…..Well probably not from his world exactly but one just like it. oh how fast that feeling changed to dread when he ran into the other and saw exactly who it was.

a face he had not seen in years……A face he had long since thought dead…..then again with how this place is he shouldn’t be surprised in the slightest…..What’s shocking him more is the fact the other if offering him…..help to understand the city. Swallowing a lump in his throat,the paladin forces a gentle smile to the other.

  “ A-ah that would not be necessary, I have been here for quite some time actually and kinda have the just of things ”

 “...Is that right.”

Being that he has been here, since the city inception and thought himself free of this place, though he notices that many things were added while he was gone. He’s not sure if he should be happy or not for this place. 

 “Ah! A eorzian, I presume that you are new to the city. It would be horrible of me, if I were to leave you alone without questions being answered about the city.” he clarifies in the end because he won’t go through the trauma again of that talk with Aymeric on the fate of Ishgard. 

Adjust his sleeves. 

“I did have some, but my backpack got caught on a twig at the base of the tree as I was trying to scramble up.” After Raine was able to feel the ground beneath her feet again she stretched and cracked her back. Sitting up on a tree branch in the same position was going to do some damage later on, she could tell. She could already feel a bruise forming. She craned her neck upwards to thank her savior once again, but had to look him up and down a few times to see that he was not on stilts or wearing massive heels. At 5′5′’ she felt like an ant in comparison.

“It was my fault really. I’ve been studying this area for a few trips now to make a sort of compendium for the flora and fauna of the area. The hoof prints were buried under leaves and it seems that I didn’t look carefully enough for them. I was quite distracted.” Raine starts pointing into the woods. “Down that pathway there is a clearing that opens into a grotto. I found some colorful and fragrant plants down there, bright pink, and almost looking like large hummingbird vines. I thought I would take a sketch and a sample to dissect at home later. That’s when the flower sprayed me with this perfumed mist, and suddenly the boars started practically stampeding out of the cave.”

 “Eh? You do know that theres already a book about the local fauna at the library right? Unless your the type to make personal notes. I ....had a friend who was like you as well. His facination with everything made him a top scholar , especially when it came to ruins.” this woman reminded him of one of his ward brothers, a shame that he believes they are all dead. A shame... a deep shame.. a unending sadness that lingers in his heart.
