We can’t, Harry almost spits, but it’d be stupid of him. Louis knows they can’t. Even if he looks like any regular Parisian in their twenties, and Harry looks like any hipster Parisian in their twenties, they can’t anyway. To be fair, they probably wouldn’t do it even if they were out. But if they were two uni students, both in Paris for an exchange, meeting over fallen books at the library, or because of mutual friends, or watching Monet’s Water Lilies?

“How would we dance?” Harry murmurs, mouth almost pressed to Louis’ cheek, so close he can feel his warmth. What a picture they must make, two millionaires freezing in a park and dreaming of a different life.

“It was… beautiful. And brilliant.” He shook his head in incredulity. “You’re a phenomenal writer, Betty.”

That caught her off guard. It was a simple statement - one that had been said to her in varying ways throughout her career. But to hear it from Jughead was strange, and it also meant the world. Because suddenly, as if by magic, she felt herself becoming corporeal in front of him; the full version of herself, uncovered and untainted by disguise. She was Elizabeth Cooper, the writer, as well as the woman. Jughead had glimpsed this final, secret part of herself, and he was okay with it, and he was here.

“But that’s not what I came here to say.” He cleared his throat. “I came here to tell you that… that you were right, Betty.”

Fans asked Louis to sign something for them and he said he had to go on stage but he would come back later and then winked at them. (x)

Louis told a girl who got a standing ovation that “As time goes on, it becomes more and more difficult to shock us and you just did that. At 17, this is a massive, massive, insane vocal.” (x)

A young father who’s a contestant said that he started wearing a man bun four years ago in Hackney and Louis said, “oh, so you’re the one to blame for the man bun.” (x/x/x)

After the man with the bun performed, Louis told him, “I know you’re worried about your throat, but you sounded fucking amazing.“ The man got two standing ovations and Louis said, “I didn’t want to use this phrase, but I think you’ve just changed your life right there.” (x/x/x/x/x)

Louis smiled a lot today. (x/x)

The judges told a group that they want to see them again and to show their full potential and Louis told them “don’t fuck it up.” (x)

Louis looked very happy whenever Simon’s son Eric was near. (x)

Louis gave fans a big smile and signed some things, including a sign requesting they play Miss You, and he stole a fan’s sharpie. (x/x/x/x/x/x)

When Steal My Girl was playing, a fan asked Louis what song it was and he stuck both his middle fingers up at her and told her to fuck off. (x)

One contestant was criticized by the other judges, but Louis said “I think you’re someone who deserves a chance” and gave her a yes. (x)

Two young female contestants were put in a duo and they received a standing ovation. Louis told them, “This reminded me of the first time we performed in One Direction. It wasn’t perfect, but there was chemistry. You did that in two hours.” (x/x/x)

Louis met and high fived some fans backstage. They told him they’ve been to all the auditions to support him and he said, “I know, I’ve seen you” and told them that he loved them all so much. He asked something along the lines of “how did you lot get back here?” or “what are you lot doing here?” (x/x/x/x/x/x)

The fans had cupcakes and gave Louis a choice of strawberry, chocolate, and red velvet, and he chose chocolate. (x)

Everyone was booing Louis and he said “if you’d let me finish.” (x)

A fan asked Louis why he’s wearing the same clothes several days in a row and he said it’s because they’re told to. (x)

Louis and the other judges rode in for one of the sessions on a golf cart. (x/x/x)

Louis kept drinking something from a white cup - possibly tea or coffee. (x)

Simon laughed at a contestant and Louis said, “Simon is being really immature, just give him 30 seconds.” (x)

Louis kept putting his fingers in his mouth and then rubbing them over his new tattoo. He also asked for cream for his new tattoo. (x/x/x)

A contestant said he’d like to be as popular as Louis. (x)

Louis left the judging panel for a minute and Robbie said he’d done a Zayn. When he came back, Ayda joked that this is not an autographing event. (x/x/x)

The fan whose sharpie Louis stole earlier told him he’d stolen her sharpie and asked if she could have it back and he said “uhhhh no.” (x/x)

Robbie and Simon said they had a plan for a contestant and Ayda said, "well, me and Louis have a plan and it’s better than yours.” (x)

Robbie sang one of his songs with a contestant and then they started singing History, so Louis and the rest of the judges joined them onstage to close out the show. (x/x/x)
