ouch ouch. yes, i love thinking about this because their writing styles compliment each other as well? Like, Harry is able to take a subject and conceptualize it into something that is felt with your entire chest and evokes such a vivid and independently interpretive idea of what it could mean to you, personally, that keeps peeling back layers the more you analyze it (like a sort of poetry in its enigmatic form) whereas Louis has the ability to become a storyteller and his words take you on a journey through his eyes as he experiences it. it’s personal, it’s direct, and it is a technique that really ties you to him as a lyricist because he has this innate ability in his words and how he sings them to cause you to feel personally involved and have a more intimate connection with his album’s overarching story. Harry writes predominantly to feel and louis writes predominantly to tell, and it is such a great balance between the two of them.
