Pan went through his routine as a gymnast would. Dressed in a special suit he’d manage to get from the workshop, all black and perfectly comfortable for his workouts, he practically cartwheeled, vaulted, and flung himself through the air for hours on end, each move coordinated and executed to perfection (or near perfection in some cases), until he felt satisfied. Pan had just finished his final move, dismounting and sticking his landing with finesse when he noticed someone had stopped and watched. “I don’t suppose you’re here to admire my form are you?” The agent asked, grabbing a towel to wipe the sweat from his brow.

              Their eyes trailed every move of his body,               a perfect arch here, rippling muscle there               and it was almost as if a trance had fallen               over them. It was ugly to say the least, not               that they didn’t appreciate his over all form,               they just didn’t have much for the gymnast               area of expertise, but the way that he carried               it, hips perfectly aligned with his shoulders               as he allowed himself to toss his body through               the air as is gravity was just an allusion for               those who hadn’t learned how to defy it yet,               and maybe that is why they looked on with               such interest, such intent. Because beyond               everything, this just didn’t make any sense to               them. And then he was done and he was               speaking to them and they had to talk back               but there was always a break between their               mind and mouth or maybe there wasn’t enough               of a break but either way words tumbled out too               quickly, and they tumbled too far, splattering to               the ground in an unruly fashion                           and they couldn’t take them back. 

            ❝ Looks more like a mess to me, but hey, we all have our things.”
