Thea stood across the street from the restaraunt she was supposed to be meeting her date at that evening. She was adorned in a beautiful white sundress with golden earrings and a necklace her mother had given her ages around clasped around her neck. She was stunning, but she couldn't help but feel like she wanted the earth to open up and swallow her whole. Thea hadn't been on a date in what felt like ages; not since her ex-- Isla's father-- had left them. The idea of letting herself be that vulnerable with someone again was terrifying, so... she stood there, wondering if she should even go over.
"Excuse me? I know this sounds totally ridiculous, but would you just tell me that I'm worried for no reason and I just need to go." She didn't give the context, she just needed to hear someone say it.

Thea and wc fell in love and fell fast when Thea was in college. They were together for years, but after Thea found out she was pregnant, the wc stayed for a while, promising to help but eventually left. The wc and Thea would be back in her life and trying to become a part of their daughter's life as well. As Isla finally slept, Thea brought out the snacks and red wine for her and her friend to enjoy while they caught up. Sometimes life was insane and it was hard to stay in the loop with the people you care about, which always called for much needed girl time.
"Ugh, I'm so glad you could come over." Thea told Elodie as she popped the cork off the bottle of wine. "I need you to tell me everything that's new in your life!"
Thea inhaled the sweet scent that invaded her senses the moment she swung open the door to forno luciani with her daughter. The contrast of the cool air conditioned bakery and the stifling heat outside was shocking yet so refreshing. Thea had always loved this place, having been a regular since she was Isla's age.
"Ciao!" Thea called as she entered the bakery, Isla's little hand in hers as they approached the counter. "What are you working on today? It smells incredible in here."

“ i think i want … no, no the … ” she had gone back and forth at least four times now, distracted by the smells, music, & the food. had put off breaking away from the stages multiple times because she hadn't wanted to miss anything, but now her stomach was growling too loudly to ignore anymore. “ if i get pizza and pasta, then double back for gelato later we shouldn't miss a lot then, right ? ” another rumble of her stomach brought on her finally darting forward, sliding in line for the pizza before it could get longer than it already was. “ you know what, pizza first. pasta after, then gelato. ”
Thea playfully rolled her eyes at the other and even let out a small sigh. "Girl, c'mon, you gotta pick something!" It came out as a laugh, because Thea wasn't impatient but she also knew the more time they spent deciding on food, the less time they had. "That sounds wonderful to me! Let's get going, I think the stall selling pizza is that way." Thea pointed in the direction she believed was the right way.
" okay so, uhm... " she was keeping her hands a safe distance away from the rest of her body. she had not touched her phone in two hours. the phone was relatively uncontaminated. " i don't know if i can wait for shawn mendes. i haven't found soap anywhere and all of the hand sanitizers i've touched have been empty ! With her daughter Isla spending the day with her nanny, Thea decided to check out one of the stages and have some time to herself and listen to music. She kept her eyes on the stage with her arms folded over her chest as she waited for the show to begin.
"Manifesting, huh." Thea huffed out a skeptical laugh. She didn't believe in such a thing; she believed you should keep a positive mindset about certain things or else you'd be miserable, but she didn't think it actually was the cause of things.
"I think if you put your mind to something and work hard at it you can achieve things. Sometimes, though, life doesn't work out how you plan it." She looked over at the person that had spoken to her and added, "that's not always a bad thing, by the way." Thea's life certainly hadn't gone to plan when she found out she was pregnant, but she loved her life and she wouldn't trade it for a thing.

Theodosia is no stranger to Capri considering her father often traveled there for work, which eventually turned into her family purchasing a vacation home there when she was a teenager. Despite spending most of the year in her hometown in England, Theodosia walked around Capri like she owned the place during her family’s vacations, and she knew the locals well.
Even from a young age she’d talked about moving to Capri permanently someday, but it wasn’t until she was eighteen years old that she finally managed to do so. She had help from her parents, of course, and she lived in the Cromwell vacation home, but she still felt incredible in her independence.
Theodosia reconnected friends, made new friends with tourists and locals, and once summer she fell in love. She was nineteen and taking a few summer classes for her journalism degree, when she met him. He was handsome, kind, and everything she could have ever wanted. They had a romance that poets wrote about and readers could only ever dream of. They were together for years and everything was perfect until it wasn’t.
Theodosia was shocked when she saw those two pink lines on that pregnancy test, and her life was forever changed. Hoping that the love she believed she found was real, she was sure he would stay with her and help her figure it all out, but when he decided to leave after promising to stay, she was devastated.
